The surveillance camera is from Dahua's WizSense series. This means that it can distinguish between people and vehicles and reduce false alarms from, for example, animals, shadows and moving trees. It is particularly suitable for both private homes and businesses.
About the camera
The camera is part of Dahua's dome series with a discreet, rounded design that is best suited for indoor installation. However, the camera is IP67 approved, which means it can withstand severe weather and can be installed both indoors and outdoors. The camera is also easy to install, as it can be placed on both vertical, horizontal and inclined surfaces.
Human and vehicle detection (WizSense IVS)
Even though the camera is intelligent, it still needs input from you. Once the camera is mounted, you can choose from several types of "smart events" :
Intrusion detection: Draw a square in the image – if a person or vehicle enters the zone and stays longer than allowed (1-10 seconds), a reaction is triggered.
Line crossing: The camera can detect if an object crosses a line you have defined.
What is a reaction?
The event that is triggered when a rule is violated is called a "reaction." Depending on which model is chosen, you have different options.
The most commonly used reactions are:
- Push notification on your mobile (get a picture sent directly to your phone of the goal that broke the rule, with a link to live playback in the app).
- Send email (this feature should be used with caution as email providers may close your account for suspected spamming if too many images are sent).
- Trigger alarm output (can be connected to an external siren or alarm).
Which Dahua dome cameras can do what?
The model name tells you what features the camera has. If the model number ends in:
- IPC-HDBW2541R-ZS: Infrared night vision.
- IPC-HDBW2541R-ZAS: Infrared night vision, built-in microphone, and alarm and audio input/output.
IP67 and IK10 approved
The camera is IP67 rated, meaning it can withstand all weather conditions. The camera can be mounted both indoors and outdoors.
- Dustproof (6): Full protection against dust.
- Waterproof by immersion (7): Can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes.
- Impact resistance (IK10): Resists impacts with a force of up to 20 joules.
Built-in microphone
The camera's built-in microphone allows you to record sounds and follow in real time. The feature ensures surveillance outside the camera's field of view, and the audio recordings can have investigative value by documenting conversations and voices in the area.
Motor zoom
The camera has built-in motorized zoom, which means you can zoom directly from a mobile, tablet or PC. Please note that it is not a PTZ camera, so it cannot pan and tilt, but only zoom.
Night lighting
The camera has built-in infrared (IR) illumination with a range of up to 40 m.
Supports microSD cards
The camera supports microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC up to 256 GB (memory card not included, but can be purchased here ).
About the lens
The camera has a motorized varifocal lens with an adjustable focal length of 2.7-13.5 mm.
- Wide angle (2.7 mm): Horizontal 113°, vertical 58°, diagonal 138°.
- Tele (13.5 mm): Horizontal 31°, vertical 18°, diagonal 36°.
Assembly
The camera is easy to install and can be mounted directly on a wall, ceiling or overhang. A back box or mounting bracket may be required if the cable assembly cannot be placed behind the wall, ceiling or overhang. Under the 'accessories' tab you can see which brackets are suitable.
