This camera:
This is the ultimate ColorVu camera in black (read more about the ColorVu concept below). It has excellent light sensitivity, a built-in microphone and 30 meters of self-illumination. Note that in the ColoVu series the light is visible, white light. The camera is simply connected to a PoE switch, PoE injector, 12v power supply or a recorder with PoE outputs. The camera has a 1/1.8" Progressive Scan CMOS image sensor - that's good ;)

But it doesn't end there, because generation 2, the DS-2CD2347 G2 -LU(C), means that the camera also has some pretty cool analytics that come as standard and are free to use. The analyzes are i.a. classification of people and vehicles, which is also known from AcuSense. (If you want this feature, but without visible light, look at AcuSense cameras ).

The advantage of ColorVu
The ColorVu series is one of the best camera series for the price. What makes the surveillance camera different from other cameras is the light sensitivity, which is really impressive. Unlike conventional surveillance cameras, the camera's own lighting is visible, whereas on others it is IR (InfraRed approx. 850nm). The visible light makes the cameras draw attention to themselves, as the light shines into the eyes and therefore has a very preventive effect. Another advantage of the visible white light is that they can also act as additional light on the building.

About AcuSense
Even though the camera is intelligent, it still needs some input from you. When the camera is mounted, you can choose between several types of "smart events", including "Detection of intrusion", where a square is drawn in the image and when a target moves into the square and stays longer than you have allowed (1 -10 seconds) triggers your "reaction". There is also line crossing which detectors if a "target" moves across the line you have drawn. It can be both ways or just one way. It can, for example, used for one-way roads, so that an alarm is given when driving against the direction or in a driveway so that you only get a notification when people arrive, but not when they leave.

See a guide in English from Hikvision here

What is a reaction? The event that is triggered when a rule is violated is called a "reaction". Depending on which model is chosen, you have different options.
Most used "reactions":

  • Push message on the mobile (get a picture sent directly to your phone, of the target that has broken the rule, with a link for direct playback in the APP)
  • Send email (this function should be used with caution, as the email provider may close your account for suspicion of spamming if too many images are sent)
  • Flash with white light
  • Warning sound (siren or voice warning - it is also possible to speak your own messages)*
  • Alarm output (open a garage door, turn on lights, send signal to your alarm system, interact with IHC, etc.

To have all functions, you must select the models where the model number ends with ISU/SL

Most cameras in the AcuSense series are available in 4 and 8 Megapixels (2K and 4K)

If the camera is connected to a newer recorder, you can also make "combined" reactions. This means that another given rule must be broken before the "reaction" is triggered. (AND logic). In practical terms, this means that you e.g. can "combine" with an "alarm input" so that the camera only sends messages if the alarm is switched on or a motion sensor is triggered. In this way, the system can be integrated into the building's systems.
