What is perimeter security?

Perimeter security means securing the outer shell of the building. It involves placing sensors on doors and windows so the alarm goes off if someone tries to get in before they are inside. The benefits of perimeter security are:

• You can be at home and have the alarm activated (e.g., at night), as it does not react to movement inside the house.
• Break-ins can be detected and prevented very early.

By only activating the alarm on doors and windows, your pets can move freely inside the house without the motion sensors reacting to them. Design

The magnetic contact is small compared to AX Pro’s other magnetic contacts. It is compact and discreet, blending better into the window frame.

Installation

The magnetic contact can be mounted on almost all types of doors and windows. It is for indoor use and does not require complicated tools or preparation.

Additionally, it has an external input so you can also connect another wired contact or sensor if you want to combine functions or customize the installation. This makes it flexible for many types of solutions, e.g., double doors, gates, or special windows.

Easy to program

You can add the device to the alarm system in several ways:

• Simply by powering it on
• By scanning a QR code
• Via remote ID registration (Remote ID)

The magnetic contact can be fully configured via the Hik-Connect app, so you don’t need physical access to adjust settings. For example, you can:

• Check signal strength
• Change input type (NO/NC/pulse)
• Monitor battery status
• Enable/disable LED on alarm
