Switch for surveillance

When you have to choose the right switch, there are a few things you can take into consideration:

How many cameras should you carry now and in the future?
Make sure you buy the right switch the first time, so if you need 4 cameras now, but knowing that you will need to expand with one or more cameras in the future, you can advantageously choose a switch for 8 cameras already now. You can see our recommended switches per camera here:

If you are to have a PTZ camera or other demanding devices, you must ensure that the individual port and the switch's total PoE budget are not exceeded. On Univiews ogr Hikvision's switches, they have created a dedicated Hi-PoE port, which is intended to drive PTZ cameras.
