Ajax LifeQuality monitors the air quality in the room
Ajax LifeQuality measures temperature, humidity and CO₂ levels in real time. Poor air quality can affect health and concentration. Too high CO₂ levels can lead to fatigue, headaches and impaired decision-making.
What does LifeQuality measure?
CO₂ concentration: The sensor measures carbon dioxide levels from 400 to 10,000 ppm (parts per million). This provides a very accurate picture of the air quality in the room.
Temperature: The built-in temperature sensor measures from 0 °C to +50 °C with an accuracy of ±0.2 °C. You can set limit values in the app so that you receive a notification if the temperature falls outside the set limits.
Humidity: It detects humidity from 0% to 100% with an accuracy of ±1.8%. Monitoring humidity can help prevent mold, discomfort and dry air. It is possible to create scenarios where a dehumidifier or humidifier is automatically activated if the humidity reaches a critical level.
All measurements are logged in the app, where you can subsequently see a detailed graph of the measurements.
Automatic activation of ventilation and humidifier
By combining LifeQuality with other Ajax devices such as WallSwitch or Socket, climate control can be activated completely automatically. In the app, you can create scenarios that are activated when the CO₂ level, humidity or temperature reaches a certain limit. This means that the sensor can detect changes in the indoor climate and activate connected devices.
Examples of automation scenarios
Ventilation is activated in case of poor indoor climate: If the CO₂ level exceeds 1,200 ppm (parts per million), a fan or mechanical ventilation system can be turned on via WallSwitch.
Dehumidifier or humidifier starts automatically: If the humidity drops below 30% or exceeds 60%, a humidifier or dehumidifier can be activated via Socket.
Adjust temperature automatically: If the temperature in the room drops below 18 °C, a heat source such as an electric radiator or underfloor heating can be switched on. Conversely, a fan or air conditioning system can be started if the temperature exceeds a set limit.
The importance of air quality
CO₂ level | Influence |
---|---|
400-1000 ppm | Normal air quality |
1001-1400 ppm | Fatigue and difficulty concentrating |
1401-1999 ppm | Headache, dizziness |
2000+ ppm | Decision-making ability significantly reduced |
Easy installation
LifeQuality can be placed on the wall, ceiling or table. It works without wires and is easy to install. The sensor is also portable and can be used temporarily in other places – for example in the car, summer house or basement.
Range
LifeQuality communicates wirelessly with the hub via Jeweller and Wings technology and has a range of up to 1,700 meters in open terrain. If the sensor loses connection to the hub, it can store all measurements for up to 3 days. This ensures that no data is lost, even if the connection is temporarily interrupted.
Battery life
The sensor comes with a CR123A battery with a lifespan of up to 2.5 years. The lifespan depends on several factors:
- How much it is used – More frequent measurements and scenarios can shorten battery life
- Temperature – Very cold environments can reduce battery performance
- Battery quality – Quality batteries typically last longer than standard batteries
Tamper protection
If someone tries to move the sensor, it will immediately send a tamper alarm to the hub.
Dimensions and weight
- Size: 77 × 77 × 34.5 mm.
- Weight: 127g.
- Colors: White or black.
Compatibility
LifeQuality is compatible with Hub 2 (2G), Hub 2 (4G), Hub 2 Plus, Hub Hybrid (2G), Hub Hybrid (4G) and Ajax ReX 2 signal booster.
