What is an NVR?
An NVR (Network Video Recorder) is a hard disk recorder designed to record and possibly react to the things that happen in front of a camera. The images can then be shared in e.g. 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 etc. to match the number of cameras added. Live view, as well as the recordings, can be viewed via PC, smartphone and directly on one or more televisions (HDMI output).
About the recordings
The recordings can either be saved locally on a hard drive, on a NAS, etc. If you set up two NVRs, they can run in a secured fail-over mode so that if one NVR goes down, the other takes over. The hard drives can be set to automatically overwrite the oldest date or not to overwrite at all.
Sound can be recorded on all cameras with a built-in microphone, at least from the same manufacturer. For other manufacturers, contact us.
About the cameras that can be connected
The recorder can be connected to network-based cameras both on the same local network, but also from the rest of the world. So if you e.g. have several business locations or would like to have the camera in the summer house in Spain
The recorder works best together with cameras from the same manufacturer, but can also work with other brands either via "private protocol" or via ONVIF, which is a common protocol for camera manufacturers.
