4 MP AXIS PTZ camera with 360° pan and 10x optical zoom

AXIS M5526-E is well suited for areas where one camera needs to monitor different directions while also making it possible to zoom in on details. The camera can be used both indoors and outdoors and combines motorized PTZ with 4 MP resolution, 10x optical zoom, autofocus, and AI-based video analytics.

PTZ function with continuous 360° pan

The camera can pan continuously through 360°, so it does not have a fixed stop when turning around. It can also tilt from 0° to 90°.

Pan and tilt can move at up to 150° per second. Up to 100 preset positions can be saved, so the camera can quickly be moved to areas you often want to check.

10x optical zoom

The lens ranges from 4.7 to 47 mm and provides 10x optical zoom. Here, the camera zooms using the lens itself, so you can get closer to details without simply enlarging the image digitally.

The horizontal field of view goes from 59.1° in the wide setting down to 6.5° when the camera is zoomed in. The camera has autofocus, so the image can automatically be focused after a zoom change.

AI detection of people and vehicles

AXIS M5526-E has a Deep Learning Processing Unit and comes with AXIS Object Analytics. The camera can detect and classify people and vehicles, including cars, buses, trucks, and bicycles.

The analytics can be used for line crossing, object-in-area detection, dwell time, line counting, and counting objects in an area, among other things. Up to 10 analytics scenarios can be set up.

Lightfinder 2.0 for low-light areas

Lightfinder 2.0 helps the camera preserve colors and details when light levels drop. The camera is rated down to 0.20 lux in color and 0.01 lux in black and white under the specified measurement conditions.

The camera has an automatic IR-cut filter and can switch between day and night mode depending on the light conditions.

Forensic WDR up to 120 dB

Forensic WDR helps preserve details when there are both very dark and very bright areas in the same image. This can be useful, for example, at entrances, gates, or areas with strong backlight.

AXIS M5526-E supports Forensic WDR up to 120 dB depending on the scene.

Up to 50/60 frames per second

The camera can deliver up to 50 or 60 frames per second depending on the power frequency. This gives smoother motion rendering and can be an advantage when monitoring moving people and vehicles.

Option for external microphone and speaker

AXIS M5526-E has connections for an external microphone and audio output. This makes two-way communication possible when the camera is combined with the required audio equipment.

The camera also has a 6-pin I/O connection that can be used for integration with external equipment.

Supports SD cards

The camera supports microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC cards, so recordings can be stored directly at the camera. There is also the option to encrypt the SD card.

Recordings can also be stored on compatible network storage such as a NAS.

Zipstream reduces storage requirements

AXIS Zipstream works with H.264 and H.265 and is designed to reduce the need for bandwidth and storage while preserving relevant details in the video image.

This can be an advantage for continuous recording and installations with multiple cameras.

AXIS Edge Vault

AXIS Edge Vault is the camera’s hardware-based security platform. It protects, among other things, the camera’s identity and cryptographic information and supports features such as Secure Boot, secure key storage, and Signed Video.

PoE or separate power supply

The camera can be powered via PoE, so power and network can run through the same network cable. It can also be powered with 20-28 V DC if the installation requires a separate power supply.

With PoE, typical power consumption is 4.2 W and maximum power consumption is 12.95 W.

For indoor and outdoor use

AXIS M5526-E is IP66-rated against dust and water and IK09-rated against mechanical impact. The camera can therefore be used both indoors and outdoors.

The operating temperature is from -20 °C to +50 °C.
