Distribute one PoE connection to up to four devices
POE-014M is used when you want to pass one existing PoE network connection on to multiple network devices. The extender has one PoE input and four outputs, and it distributes both the network connection and the available PoE power between the connected devices.
This can be a practical solution in places where one network cable has already been run, but several PoE devices need to be placed in the same area. This means you can reduce the need to run separate network cables all the way back to the original network installation.
Power and data through the same network cable
The extender supports PoE according to IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at. This means that both network data and power can be carried through the Ethernet cable, so compatible PoE devices do not need a separate power supply at the installation site.
The PoE input supports a total output of up to 30 W. The available power is distributed between the four outputs, and a single output can deliver up to 25.5 W if the total available power allows it.
Automatic distribution of PoE power
POE-014M distributes the available PoE power between ports 1-4. It is therefore the total power received at the PoE input that determines how much power can be delivered to the connected devices.
If several devices are connected at the same time, their total power consumption must therefore stay within the power the extender receives from the upstream PoE supply.
10/100 Mbps network connection
The five network ports support 10/100 Mbps. This is suitable, for example, for network devices where a 100 Mbps connection is sufficient for the required data traffic.
Up to 100 meters with CAT5e or CAT6
The connection can be run up to 100 meters via CAT5e or CAT6 cable. The extender can also be used in a cascade, so the connection can be passed on to a subsequent extender when the installation setup requires it.
PoE on conductor pairs 1/2 and 3/6
The PoE output supplies power via the network cable’s conductor pair 1/2 as positive and 3/6 as negative. Network transmission also takes place over 1/2 and 3/6.
Aluminium alloy housing
POE-014M comes with a housing made of aluminium alloy. The unit measures 90 × 97 × 29 mm and weighs approximately 0.18 kg.
