Split the PoE connection to two network devices
This 1 to 2 PoE extender is used when you want to extend an existing PoE connection to two network devices. The extender has one RJ45 port for PoE input and two RJ45 ports for PoE output.
This means that both data and power can be carried through the network cables, so you can, for example, connect IP cameras, access points or IP phones without needing a separate power connection at the extender.
Extends the PoE connection by up to 100 meters
A standard Ethernet cable usually has a maximum range of around 100 meters. With the extender, the connection can be extended by an additional 100 meters while both network data and PoE power are carried onward.
This makes the product suitable for installations where the network device needs to be placed farther away from the PoE switch or PoE injector than a regular cable connection allows.
No local power supply needed
The extender gets power directly through the PoE input. You therefore don’t need a power outlet or separate power supply where the extender is installed.
This can make installation much simpler in places where network cable can already be run, but where there is no access to 230 V nearby.
10/100 Mbps network
The network ports support 10/100 Mbps. This is suitable for many common PoE-based installations with IP cameras, access points, IP phones and other network equipment.
Supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE
The extender supports IEEE 802.3af/at and operates with a PoE input voltage of DC 44-57 V. Power and data are carried through the network cable, so there is no need to run a separate power cable alongside the Ethernet connection.
PoE is used on pins 1/2 (+) and 3/6 (-), corresponding to Mode A / End-Span.
Plug and play without configuration
No software or network configuration is required to start using the extender. Connect the PoE connection to the input and the desired network devices to the outputs.
The LED indicators by the RJ45 connectors make it possible to see the PoE status directly on the unit.
Can be used for longer cable runs
PoE extenders can be cascaded when the connection needs to be carried over longer distances. According to the specifications, multiple extenders can be combined for installations with a total range of up to 700 meters. The practical possible distance and available PoE power depend, among other things, on the power supply, the number of extenders, cable length and the power consumption of the connected equipment.
For indoor installation
The extender is recommended for indoor use and must be kept away from moisture and water. If used outdoors, it must be mounted in a location protected from water.
