Extend the PoE connection without a local power supply
POE-011W makes it possible to place a PoE device farther away from the switch or PoE injector. The extender receives both data and power through the network cable and passes the connection on to the connected PoE device.
This means you don’t need to set up a separate power supply at the extender’s location. It can make installation easier, especially where access to 230 V is not practical.
Up to 200 meters total transmission distance
A standard Ethernet cable is normally used with a maximum length of 100 meters per cable run. POE-011W can extend the connection by an additional up to 100 meters, so network and PoE power can be run over a total distance of up to approximately 200 meters.
The actual installation depends, among other things, on cable type, power consumption, and the PoE source used.
10/100 Mbps network connection
The extender has two RJ45 ports and supports 10/100 Mbps Ethernet. One port is used as the upstream input for data and PoE power, while the other port passes data and power on to the connected PoE device.
The ports support wire-speed forwarding, so network traffic can be forwarded without unnecessary limitation within the extender’s specified network speed.
PoE according to IEEE 802.3af/at
POE-011W supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at. The extender automatically detects compatible PoE equipment before power is delivered.
This helps protect standard non-PoE network devices from unintended power supply.
Up to 30 W PoE power
The maximum specified PoE power is 30 watts. The actual power available at the connected device depends, among other things, on the PoE source, cable length, and power loss in the installation.
No configuration required
The extender is plug and play and requires no programming or network setup. When the cables are connected correctly, network and PoE are forwarded automatically.
Flow control for stable data transmission
POE-011W supports IEEE 802.3x flow control in full duplex and back-pressure in half duplex. This function helps manage data traffic if more traffic temporarily occurs than the connection can handle.
