A network recorder is the device that records and stores video from your surveillance cameras. The cameras send their video to the recorder over the network, where the recordings are saved to a hard drive.
You can view live images and play back recordings directly from the recorder on a connected monitor. You can also access the system from your mobile or computer via the internet, so you can keep an eye on the cameras and review recordings even when you’re not on site.

Network recorder with built-in PoE switch
Dahua NVR5216-16P-EI2 is a 16-channel network recorder designed for small and medium surveillance systems. The recorder receives video from IP cameras and stores the recordings on hard drives.
The built-in PoE ports make installation easier, since cameras can be connected directly to the recorder with a network cable and receive power at the same time.

The recorder has 16 PoE ports, so you can connect up to 16 cameras directly to the recorder.
The cameras get both power and network connection through the same cable. That makes installation simpler and means you don’t need a separate PoE switch.
AcuPick – intelligent search through recordings
AcuPick is an intelligent search feature that makes it much faster for you to find specific events in the recordings.
Instead of going through hours of video manually, the system analyzes the recordings and highlights clips where people or vehicles appear. You can quickly find the times when something actually happened.
The feature lets you search for people or vehicles in the footage and highlights the clips with the highest likelihood of containing what you’re looking for.
When AcuPick is used together with compatible Dahua cameras, the search becomes even more accurate. Both the camera and the recorder analyze the video, which helps the system find the relevant recordings more easily.
That means you can find incidents in seconds that would otherwise take a long time to review manually.
Facial recognition
The recorder supports facial recognition and can compare detected faces against a face library.
The system can store up to 20 face databases with a total of up to 30,000 face images. When a face is detected on the cameras, the system can compare it with the database and help you identify specific people.
That makes it easier to search for particular people in the recordings.
SMD Plus - intelligent motion detection
SMD Plus analyzes motion in the video and can distinguish between people, vehicles and other types of movement.
This makes it easier for you to find times when people or cars were in the area. At the same time, the system reduces many false alarms from, for example, rain, leaves or changes in lighting.
Perimeter protection
Perimeter protection detects events in specific areas of the image.
This can be, for example, when someone crosses a line or moves into a zone. The feature helps reduce false alarms by focusing on relevant events.
Supports cameras up to 32 MP
The recorder works with IP cameras with resolutions up to 32 megapixels. That means you can use very high-quality cameras and still record video without problems.
The high bandwidth makes it possible to receive video from many cameras at the same time.
High bandwidth for many cameras
The recorder has an incoming bandwidth of up to 448 Mbps. This determines how much video data the recorder can receive from the cameras.
The high bandwidth allows you to connect multiple high-resolution cameras without overloading the system.
Storage
The recorder has space for two hard drives. Each hard drive can have a capacity of up to 20 TB.
The hard drives store the recordings from the cameras so you can review them later. When the drives fill up, the system automatically overwrites the oldest recordings.
Monitor connection
The recorder has HDMI and VGA outputs so you can connect a monitor directly to the system.
This lets you view live images from the cameras and play back recordings directly from the recorder.
ONVIF
The recorder supports the ONVIF standard, which is used by many surveillance camera manufacturers.
That means you can also use cameras from other manufacturers as long as they support ONVIF.
