4-channel WizSense recorder with smarter search and AI analysis

DHI-NVR4104-EI has built-in AI that can perform, among other things, SMD Plus, perimeter protection, face detection, and face recognition directly in the recorder. With compatible Dahua cameras, the system can also receive additional analysis functions from the cameras.

QuickPick 2.0 and AI Search make it easier to find specific people, vehicles, and events in recordings, so less time is spent manually reviewing video.

Up to 4 IP cameras

The NVR supports up to four IP cameras and brings live view, recordings, search, and events together in one system.

The model does not have built-in PoE ports. The cameras are therefore connected through the network and can, for example, be powered via a separate PoE switch.

QuickPick 2.0

QuickPick 2.0 is Dahua's search function for finding specific people and vehicles in recordings more quickly.

The function can, among other things, use information about clothing and vehicle colors as well as different types of hats, clothing, and vehicles to make the search more precise.

QuickPick 2.0 requires compatible Dahua cameras and the necessary analysis functions in the system.

AI Search

AI Search makes it possible to search video based on target characteristics and event types.

This makes it easier to find out when and where a specific person, vehicle, or event appeared in the recordings.

SMD Plus on all 4 channels

The NVR's own SMD Plus can be used on all four camera channels.

The function adds an extra layer of filtering for motion events and focuses on people and motor vehicles. This helps reduce events caused by things like rain, leaves, and changes in lighting.

SMD from compatible cameras

If the cameras themselves support SMD, their classified events can be received on all four channels.

The exact functionality depends on the capabilities of the connected camera.

Perimeter protection

DHI-NVR4104-EI can perform perimeter analysis on its own on up to two channels with up to 10 IVS rules on each channel.

Perimeter protection can be used to detect relevant people and vehicles, such as those crossing a virtual line or moving into a defined area.

Fewer unnecessary alarms

The perimeter analysis can filter out events caused by things like animals, moving leaves, or strong changes in light.

This means the system can focus more on people and vehicles rather than any movement in the image.

Perimeter analysis from camera on all channels

With compatible Dahua cameras, perimeter analysis can be performed directly in the cameras and received on all four channels.

At the same time, this frees up some of the NVR's own AI capacity for other functions.

Face detection

The NVR can perform face detection on one channel with up to 12 captured face images per second.

The system detects faces in the video image, tracks them, and selects a suitable face image for further analysis and search.

Face recognition

Detected faces can be compared with images in the recorder's face databases.

When face detection is performed in the NVR, both detection and recognition can be carried out on one channel. If compatible cameras provide the face images, the recorder can perform face recognition on up to four channels.

Up to 20,000 face images

Up to 10 face databases can be created, with a total of up to 20,000 images.

For each face image, additional information can be saved, including name, gender, date of birth, address, and identification details.

Face attributes

Face analysis can work with characteristics such as gender, age group, glasses, facial expression, face mask, and beard.

This information can be used as extra context when reviewing registered events.

ANPR with compatible cameras

The NVR supports ANPR from compatible Dahua license plate cameras.

License plates can be registered and used for search as well as block and allow lists when the connected camera supports the function.

People counting from camera

Compatible Dahua cameras can send people counting data to the recorder.

This makes it possible to work with statistics on how many people pass through a defined area.

Heat Map from camera

Heat Map from compatible cameras can be used to visualize where there is typically the most activity or the most people in an area.

The result can be used to get a better overview of movement patterns over time.

Stereo analysis from camera

DHI-NVR4104-EI can also receive stereo analysis from compatible Dahua cameras.

The specific analysis functions depend on the camera model used.

EPTZ

The NVR supports EPTZ, which can be used to electronically focus the view on relevant areas in a compatible camera image.

Quick arming and disarming

One-click arming and disarming makes it possible to quickly activate or deactivate relevant alarm functions in the system.

This can make day-to-day operation easier when surveillance needs to switch between different modes.

Supports cameras up to 16 MP

The NVR supports IP cameras with resolutions of up to 16 MP.

This means the system can be used with both standard 4MP and 8MP cameras as well as models with even higher resolution.

High decoding capacity

With the NVR's own AI turned off, it can, among other things, decode up to four 8MP camera streams at 30 frames per second simultaneously.

When using the built-in AI, part of the processing capacity is used for analysis. Here, among other things, up to four 5MP streams at 30 frames per second are supported.

80 Mbps bandwidth

The NVR supports up to 80 Mbps incoming camera traffic, 80 Mbps for recording, and 80 Mbps outgoing traffic.

This is the total data volume from the connected cameras, which must be taken into account when choosing resolution, frame rate, and bitrate.

Smart H.265+

The recorder supports Smart H.265+, H.265, Smart H.264+, H.264, and MJPEG.

Smart H.265+ can reduce the required storage space compared with older video compression, thereby providing longer recording time on the installed hard drive.

Space for one hard drive

DHI-NVR4104-EI has one SATA slot for a surveillance hard drive.

The datasheet states support for hard drives up to 20 TB, where the maximum capacity may depend on temperature conditions.

HDMI with up to 4K

The HDMI output supports resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 pixels.

You can therefore connect a compatible 4K monitor or TV directly to the NVR and get a high-resolution overview of the cameras.

HDMI and VGA

The recorder has both one HDMI and one VGA output.

It can be configured whether HDMI and VGA should display the same video source or different views.

Playback of all four channels at once

Recordings from all four camera channels can be played back at the same time.

This makes it easier to follow the same event from multiple camera angles.

Smart Playback

The NVR supports both normal playback, event playback, Tag Playback, and Smart Playback.

This makes it faster to jump to the parts of the recordings where relevant events have been registered.

Alarm responses

When an event is detected, the system can, among other things, start recording, save snapshots, activate an external alarm output on the camera, play audio, activate the buzzer, save the event in the log, move a compatible PTZ camera to a preset, or send an email.

Audio input and audio output

The NVR has one RCA audio input and one RCA audio output for compatible audio equipment.

Remote access from mobile

The system supports remote access from both iOS and Android.

When the NVR is properly connected and configured, you can view the cameras live and watch recordings from your mobile phone or tablet.

Access from PC

The recorder can also be accessed from a PC via compatible software or a browser.

From there, you can, among other things, view cameras live, play back recordings, and manage the system's functions.

Third-party cameras

DHI-NVR4104-EI supports ONVIF and can be used with compatible cameras from several manufacturers.

The datasheet mentions, among others, Panasonic, Sony, Hanwha, Axis, Pelco, Arecont, and Canon. However, the advanced Dahua AI functions require compatible features in the camera and the necessary integration.

Compatibility

DHI-NVR4104-EI supports ONVIF Profile S, G, and T as well as CGI and SDK. QuickPick 2.0 and a range of the camera-based AI functions require compatible Dahua cameras.

The recorder does not have built-in PoE ports. Compatible Dahua accessories can be found under the Accessories tab.
