Here you can see the compatibility between the various units and Hubs from Ajax
https://ajax.systems/tools/devices-compatibility/
Ajax Security HUB is the central unit that controls your entire alarm system.
The hub is the cornerstone of a fully wireless alarm system. It connects all your sensors, sirens and your smartphone, so you get notified immediately if something happens. It's ideal for homes, small businesses and holiday homes where you want a secure solution without the need for image verification.
It’s very easy to install by scanning the QR code. As an administrator you can grant permissions and temporary access to, for example, family members or the cleaning staff.
The system is simple to use and everything can be controlled from an app on your phone. It’s also possible to add cameras to the system if they are supported.
What does it do?
The HUB coordinates all devices in your Ajax system. It receives signals from the sensors, evaluates them and immediately sends notifications to your smartphone. It acts as the brain of the system and ensures everything works, even if the internet goes down.
Stable communication via Ethernet and 2G
The HUB uses both LAN (Ethernet) and 2G mobile network so it can always relay alarms:
- Ethernet provides a fast and stable connection
- 2G works as a backup if the internet fails
- Automatic switching between connections in case of outage
This gives you a secure and stable solution, even in areas with poor connectivity.
Supports cameras (up to 10)
Although the HUB is the original Ajax hub, it can still integrate IP cameras via RTSP and direct integration. You can view live video in the app and check what’s happening when the alarm goes off.
The limitations are:
- HUB does not support MotionCam or MotionCam Outdoor.
- This feature is available starting with HUB 2 and later.
Up to 100 devices
The HUB can connect up to 100 Ajax devices such as:
- Door contacts
- Motion detectors
- Sirens
- Water and fire detectors
- Relays and smart devices
Perfect for regular homes and small businesses.
Up to 50 users
All users get their own access via the app.
You can control who is allowed to arm/disarm the system or change settings.
Up to 9 groups
The system can be divided into different areas, for example:
- House
- Garage
- Basement
- Shop
- Workshop
Each group can be armed or disarmed separately.
Supports 1 range extender
The HUB supports 1 ReX, which can extend range if the property is larger.
The hub does not support
- MotionCam (photo detection)
- MotionCam PHOD
- Keypad Plus (NFC function)
- Fibra wired devices
Power & installation
The hub uses 230V and includes a 12V adapter
- Internet: LAN + SIM (2G)
- Mount indoors
- No wiring to sensors – everything is wireless
SIM card
There is an option to insert a SIM card into the control unit. The advantage of having a SIM card is that it can call you if the alarm goes off.
If there is no SIM card in the alarm system, it can only send push notifications.
You can get a SIM card from your usual operator, or order one from us. It costs 50,- per month and has no commitment.
