8 MP Cube camera with AcuSense and PIR

DS-2CD2483G2-I combines 8 MP video surveillance with Hikvision AcuSense and a built-in PIR sensor. The camera also includes a microphone and speaker, so you can both hear what’s happening in the area and talk through the camera.

AcuSense focuses on people and vehicles

Hikvision AcuSense uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. This helps the camera focus alerts on relevant targets instead of simply reacting to any movement in the image.

The camera supports both line crossing and intrusion detection with people and vehicle classification.

PIR sensor detects body heat

In addition to analysing the camera image, the camera has a built-in PIR sensor. The passive infrared sensor is sensitive to body heat and can detect people at distances of up to 8 metres.

The PIR sensor covers approximately 90° horizontally and 80° vertically.

Built-in microphone and speaker

DS-2CD2483G2-I has both a built-in microphone and speaker. This means you can hear sound from the area around the camera and talk back through the built-in speaker.

The speaker is 1 W and has a maximum sound pressure level of 91 dB measured at 10 cm. The camera also supports ambient noise filtering.

8 MP delivers a high level of detail

With a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, the camera can record in 8 MP / 4K. At full 4K resolution, the camera delivers up to 12.5 frames per second at 50 Hz and 15 frames per second at 60 Hz.

At resolutions up to 2688 × 1520, the frame rate can be increased to 25 and 30 frames per second respectively.

IR for surveillance in the dark

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 10 metres. When there isn’t enough light, the camera can continue monitoring with IR and a black-and-white image.

Improved image in backlight

The camera handles areas with both bright light and dark sections, giving you a more balanced image in places such as windows, entrances and other areas with strong backlight.

In addition, BLC, HLC and 3D DNR are supported for further image adjustment.

Face Detection

DS-2CD2483G2-I supports Face Detection, so the camera can detect when a face appears in the image.

Face Detection should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet states face detection, but not identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardised indication of the expected level of detail at different distances and depend on the selected lens.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 85.5 metres for Detect, 33.9 metres for Observe, 17.1 metres for Recognize and 8.6 metres for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range.

Supports SD cards up to 256 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. Network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) is also supported.

H.265+ reduces storage use

DS-2CD2483G2-I supports H.265 and H.265+ on the main stream. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

PoE makes installation easier

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, both power and network data can be carried through the same network cable.

For indoor installation

The camera is made of plastic and is specified for operation from -10 °C to +40 °C. The datasheet does not state any IP rating, so the camera should not be described as a weatherproof outdoor camera.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
