4 MP Cube camera with AcuSense and PIR sensor

The DS-2CD2443G2-I combines 4 MP video surveillance with Hikvision AcuSense and a built-in PIR sensor. The camera also has a microphone and speaker, so you can both hear what is happening and talk through the camera.

AcuSense focuses on people and vehicles

Hikvision AcuSense uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus alerts on these target types instead of only reacting to normal movement in the camera image.

The camera supports both line crossing and intrusion detection with classification of people and vehicles.

PIR sensor detects people via body heat

In addition to analyzing the camera image, the DS-2CD2443G2-I has a built-in passive infrared sensor, also called PIR. The sensor reacts to infrared heat and is sensitive to human body heat.

The PIR sensor has a range of up to 8 meters with a detection angle of approximately 90° horizontally and 80° vertically.

Built-in microphone and speaker

The camera has both a built-in microphone and speaker and therefore supports two-way communication. You can hear sound from the area around the camera and talk back through the built-in speaker.

The built-in speaker is 1 W and has a maximum sound pressure of 91 dB measured at 10 cm. The camera also supports filtering of ambient noise.

4 MP provides a detailed surveillance image

The camera has a maximum resolution of 2688 × 1520 pixels. At 50 Hz, it can deliver up to 25 frames per second at full resolution, and at 60 Hz up to 30 frames per second.

IR illumination for dark environments

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 10 meters. When there is not enough light, the camera can use IR and continue monitoring with a black-and-white image.

Smart Supplement Light helps control the supplemental IR illumination.

Better image in difficult backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, so the image becomes more balanced in places such as windows, doors, and other areas with strong backlight.

In addition, BLC, HLC, and 3D DNR are supported for further image adjustment.

Face Detection

DS-2CD2443G2-I supports Face Detection, so the camera can detect when a face appears in the image.

Face Detection should not be confused with face recognition. The datasheet indicates face detection, but not identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances and depend on the selected lens.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 56 meters for Detect, 22.2 meters for Observe, 11.2 meters for Recognize, and 5.6 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range.

Supports SD cards up to 256 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. In addition, network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) is supported.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

The DS-2CD2443G2-I supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+, and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

PoE for easy installation

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, power and network data can be carried through the same network cable.

This usually means that only one cable needs to be run to the camera when it is connected to a compatible PoE switch or PoE recorder.

For indoor installation

The camera is made of plastic and is specified for operation from -10 °C to +40 °C. The datasheet does not list any IP rating, so the camera should not be described as a weatherproof outdoor camera.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
