4 MP ColorVu camera with Smart Hybrid Light

DS-2CD2347G2H-LIU combines a light-sensitive 1/1.8" sensor and F1.0 aperture with ColorVu and Smart Hybrid Light. The camera has both IR and white light and is also equipped with Deep Learning-based classification of people and vehicles.

ColorVu for areas with very little light

ColorVu is designed to make use of even very limited light in the surroundings. The camera is specified down to 0.0005 lux in color at F1.0, making it suitable for areas where light levels become very low in the evening and at night.

The large 1/1.8" image sensor and bright F1.0 aperture help the camera capture the available light.

Smart Hybrid Light with IR and white light

The camera has Smart Hybrid Light and is equipped with both IR illumination and white light. The supplementary lighting has a range of up to 40 meters.

This makes it possible to use IR for monitoring in the dark or white light when visible light is needed. The datasheet lists Smart Supplement Light, but does not describe the specific switching options between the light sources.

Detects people and vehicles

The camera uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus relevant alarms on these target types instead of simply reacting to general motion in the image.

This can be useful at entrances, driveways, courtyards, and other areas where you mainly want to keep an eye on people and vehicles.

Line crossing and monitoring of specific areas

DS-2CD2347G2H-LIU supports line crossing, intrusion, region entrance, and region exiting. These functions support alarms based on classification of people and vehicles.

For example, you can define a virtual line at a driveway or a specific area where the camera should react when a person or vehicle moves in or out.

Built-in microphone

The LIU version has a built-in microphone, so sound can be recorded together with the video without the need for a separate microphone. The camera also supports noise filtering from the surroundings.

4 MP provides a detailed image

The camera has a maximum resolution of 2688 × 1520 pixels. This gives more image detail than traditional Full HD and makes it easier to see smaller details in the recordings.

At 50 Hz, the camera can deliver up to 25 frames per second at full 4 MP resolution.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

DS-2CD2347G2H-LIU is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens.

2.8 mm provides a horizontal field of view of about 111° and is suitable when you want a wide overview of, for example, an entrance, terrace, or courtyard.

4 mm provides a horizontal field of view of about 95° and concentrates the image more forward. This can be relevant for driveways, gates, and passages.

Better image in difficult backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, giving you a more balanced image in situations such as backlighting. This can be relevant at entrances or other places where lighting conditions vary a lot within the same image.

The camera also supports BLC, HLC, and 3D DNR for further image adjustment.

Face Capture

DS-2CD2347G2H-LIU supports Face Capture, so the camera can detect faces in the image and capture pictures of them.

Face Capture should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet lists Face Capture, but not identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances from the camera.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 61 meters for Detect, 24 meters for Observe, 12 meters for Recognize, and 6 meters for Identify.

With 4 mm, the values are approximately 75 meters for Detect, 30 meters for Observe, 15 meters for Recognize, and 7 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the range of the camera’s supplementary lighting.

Supports SD cards up to 512 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 512 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. Network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) is also supported.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

DS-2CD2347G2H-LIU supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+, and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

PoE makes installation easier

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, power and network data can run through the same network cable.

This usually means that only one cable needs to be run to the camera when it is connected to a compatible PoE switch or PoE recorder.

IP67 and metal housing

The camera cover and housing are made of metal, and the IP67 rating protects against dust and water. The camera is specified for operation at temperatures from -30 °C to +60 °C.

The datasheet states that this model does not have special corrosion protection.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
