4K bullet camera with motorized zoom, Starlight and intelligent video analytics

NBE-5704-AL is well suited for use at buildings, parking areas, driveways, industrial sites, and perimeter surveillance. The combination of 8 MP resolution and motorized zoom makes it possible to adapt the camera for both wide overview images and more focused monitoring of areas farther away.

8 MP 4K resolution

The camera has a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor and delivers up to 3840 × 2160 pixels in 4K UHD. The high resolution provides more detail in the image and is especially relevant in areas where you want a large coverage area without compromising too much on detail.

The camera supports up to 30 frames per second and can deliver multiple individually configurable video streams.

Motorized zoom from 3.2 to 10.5 mm

The motorized lens ranges from 3.2 to 10.5 mm and has electronic zoom and focus. This means the field of view can be adjusted after installation without manually adjusting the lens.

At 3.2 mm, the horizontal viewing angle is about 105°, giving you a wide overview. At 10.5 mm, the viewing angle becomes about 31°, so the camera can focus on a smaller area farther away.

Starlight for low-light conditions

Bosch Starlight technology helps the camera deliver usable images in very low light. The light sensitivity is specified at 0.046 lux in color and 0.015 lux in black and white.

When there is not enough light, the camera’s built-in IR illumination can be used for monitoring in complete darkness.

Intelligent IR up to 45 meters

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 45 meters. IR intensity can be adjusted automatically or manually.

The intelligent IR function helps adapt the lighting to the scene, so objects close to the camera are not unnecessarily overexposed.

IVA Pro Buildings detects people and vehicles

NBE-5704-AL comes with Bosch IVA Pro Buildings, which uses Deep Learning-based video analytics to detect, classify, and track people and vehicles.

The analytics are designed to be resistant to many common causes of false alarms, such as rain, wind, moving trees, snow, hail, reflections, shadows, and insects.

Advanced alarm rules

The camera’s analytics can react to objects in specific areas, line crossing, entering and leaving areas, loitering, counting, occupancy, and objects that stop or start moving.

Objects can be filtered by factors including size, direction, duration, color, and object class. By default, people and vehicles are supported, while additional classes can be used with the relevant IVA Pro licenses.

Option for IVA Pro Perimeter and Traffic

The camera can be expanded with IVA Pro Perimeter or IVA Pro Traffic via a separate license.

IVA Pro Perimeter is aimed at more demanding perimeter surveillance, while IVA Pro Traffic is developed for traffic-related video analytics and event detection.

120 dB HDR

The camera’s HDR of up to 120 dB helps preserve detail in scenes with large differences between bright and dark areas.

This can be especially useful at gates, entrances, and areas with strong backlight, where both foreground and background need to be usable in the same image.

How far can the camera see?

At 3.2 mm, Bosch specifies the DORI distances at approximately 62 meters for detection, 25 meters for observation, 12 meters for recognition, and 6 meters for identification.

At 10.5 mm, the calculated distances increase to approximately 275 meters for detection, 109 meters for observation, 55 meters for recognition, and 28 meters for identification.

DORI values are standardized calculations based on the number of pixels on an object. They are therefore not the same as the 45-meter IR range, nor do they indicate the range of the IVA video analytics.

Electronic image stabilization

The camera has gyro-based electronic image stabilization. This function can help reduce visible vibrations in the image if the camera is mounted in a location with movement or vibration.

Two-way communication with external audio equipment

NBE-5704-AL has an audio input and audio output and supports both full duplex and half duplex communication.

This means an external microphone and speaker can be connected if the installation is to be used for audio recording or communication.

Local recording on SD card

The camera supports microSDHC and microSDXC cards with up to 2 TB capacity.

Storage can be used for continuous recording, scheduled recordings, or recording on alarms and events. Compatible industrial SD cards can also support monitoring of card condition.

H.265 and Bosch Intelligent Streaming

The camera supports H.265, H.264, and MJPEG as well as Bosch Intelligent Streaming. The system can reduce the need for bandwidth and storage by prioritizing the relevant parts of the image.

The different video streams can be individually configured with different resolutions, frame rates, and compression settings.

PoE or separate power supply

NBE-5704-AL supports PoE according to IEEE 802.3af/802.3at Type 1, Class 3. This means power and network can run through the same cable.

The camera can also be powered by 12 V DC or 24 V AC. Via PoE, power consumption is approximately 6.62 W with IR off and up to 10.59 W with IR on.

Built for outdoor installation

The camera is IP66- and IP67-rated and therefore protected against dust and water. It is also IK10-rated against mechanical impact.

NEMA 4X also provides extra protection in demanding environments, including against corrosion. The operating temperature ranges from -40 °C to +55 °C in continuous operation.

Security built into the camera

The camera has a built-in Secure Element with Trusted Platform Module functionality for secure storage of certificates and cryptographic keys.

It supports, among other things, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3, Secure Boot, signed firmware, XTS-AES encryption of local storage, and end-to-end encryption with compatible video management systems.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.
