8 MP AcuSense with DarkFighter

DS-2CD2086G2H-I combines 8 MP resolution with a large 1/1.8" image sensor, F1.0 aperture, DarkFighter and AcuSense. This gives you a camera that delivers a detailed image and is also designed to perform in challenging lighting conditions. At the same time, the camera’s Deep Learning features can focus alarms on people and vehicles.

8 MP gives a detailed 4K image

The camera has a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, equivalent to 8 MP / 4K. The high resolution provides plenty of image data to work with, giving you good opportunities to see smaller details in recordings.

At 50 Hz, the camera can deliver up to 25 frames per second at full 3840 × 2160 resolution. At 60 Hz, it supports up to 24 frames per second at full 4K resolution and up to 30 frames per second at lower resolutions.

AcuSense focuses on people and vehicles

Hikvision AcuSense uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. This means the camera can focus on the target types that are typically important in video surveillance, rather than only detecting motion in the image.

This makes it possible to create more targeted alarms and can, for example, be used at driveways, buildings and other areas where you mainly want to detect people and vehicles.

Line crossing and monitoring of specific areas

DS-2CD2086G2H-I supports line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting. These functions support alarms based on the classification of people and vehicles.

For example, you can define a line at a gate or driveway and have the camera react when a person or vehicle crosses it. You can also define a specific area and detect relevant targets when they enter or leave the area.

DarkFighter for very low light

DarkFighter technology is designed to deliver a usable image when only very little light is available. DS-2CD2086G2H-I is specified down to 0.0008 lux in color at F1.0.

The combination of the large 1/1.8" image sensor and the bright F1.0 aperture helps the camera make use of the available light. When there is no longer enough light, the camera can switch to black and white and use the built-in IR illumination.

Up to 40 meters IR in the dark

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 40 meters. This makes it possible to continue surveillance in complete darkness, where the camera delivers a black-and-white image using IR.

The camera also supports Smart Supplement Light for controlling the supplemental IR illumination.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

DS-2CD2086G2H-I is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens. The choice mainly depends on how wide an area the camera should cover.

2.8 mm provides approximately a 105° horizontal field of view and is the widest of the two variants. It is well suited for example entrances, terraces, courtyards and other places where a broad overview is important.

4 mm provides approximately a 90° horizontal field of view. The image becomes more focused forward, which can be a good fit for driveways, gates and passages.

Better image in backlight

The camera can handle areas with both strong light and dark sections, giving you a more balanced image in situations such as backlight. This can be relevant at entrances, driveways or other places where part of the image is in sun while other parts are in shade.

The camera also supports BLC, HLC and 3D DNR for further image adjustment and enhancement.

Face Capture

DS-2CD2086G2H-I supports Face Capture, so the camera can detect faces in the image and capture photos of them when they are detected.

Face Capture should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet lists Face Capture, but not identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances from the camera.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 89 meters for Detect, 35 meters for Observe, 17 meters for Recognize and 8 meters for Identify.

With 4 mm, the values are approximately 109 meters for Detect, 43 meters for Observe, 21 meters for Recognize and 10 meters for Identify.

The DORI values describe the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range, which is up to 40 meters.

Supports SD cards up to 512 GB

DS-2CD2086G2H-I supports SD cards up to 512 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. The camera also supports network storage via NAS.

This gives you the option of both local storage in the camera and storage over the network, depending on how you want to set up your surveillance system.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

The camera supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data that needs to be stored and sent over the network.

This is especially relevant with an 8 MP camera, where the high resolution would otherwise require more storage space and bandwidth.

PoE makes installation easier

DS-2CD2086G2H-I can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. When using PoE, both power and network data can run through the same network cable.

This means that normally only one cable needs to be run to the camera when it is connected to a compatible PoE switch or PoE recorder.

Metal housing and IP67

The camera’s front, housing and bracket are made of metal. The camera is IP67 rated and can be used both indoors and outdoors at temperatures from -30 °C to +60 °C.

The datasheet states that the model does not have special corrosion protection. The camera is therefore intended for areas where no special corrosion protection is required.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
