8 MP turret camera with motorized zoom and strong performance in low light

DS-2CD2H86G2-IZS delivers images at up to 3840 × 2160 pixels and features a motorized 2.8-12 mm lens. This combination gives you both high detail and the option to adjust the field of view to suit the area being monitored.

2.8-12 mm motorized zoom

The motorized lens makes it possible to adjust the field of view from 2.8 to 12 mm. This is especially practical when the camera is first installed and the image later needs to be precisely tailored to the surveillance area.

At 2.8 mm, you get a wide horizontal viewing angle of approximately 108°, providing a great overview of a larger area. At 12 mm, the viewing angle is about 46°, allowing the camera to focus on a smaller area farther away.

Good in very low light

The camera has a large 1/1.8" image sensor and is specified down to 0.003 lux in color. This makes it well suited for areas with limited ambient light in the evening and at night.

When there is no longer enough light for color imaging, the camera can use the built-in IR illumination and continue monitoring in black and white.

Person and vehicle detection

The camera uses Deep Learning to distinguish people and vehicles from other movement. This helps focus alerts on relevant events instead of simply reacting to any motion in the image.

Person and vehicle classification is supported, among other things, for line crossing, intrusion, region entrance, and region exiting.

IR for monitoring in the dark

The built-in IR illumination has a range of up to 40 meters. The camera can therefore continue monitoring in completely dark areas, where the image is shown in black and white.

8 MP / 4K gives high detail

With a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, the camera delivers a high level of detail, making it easier to review people, vehicles, and other details in recordings later.

At 50 Hz, the camera can deliver up to 25 frames per second at full 8 MP resolution.

Better image in backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, making the image more balanced in places such as entrances, gates, and other areas with large differences between bright and dark zones.

In addition, BLC, HLC, and 3D DNR are supported for further image adjustment.

Audio and alarm connections

DS-2CD2H86G2-IZS has one line-in and one line-out for external audio equipment. The camera also has one alarm input and one alarm output for connecting compatible external equipment.

The datasheet does not specify a built-in microphone or speaker. If audio is needed, external audio equipment must therefore be connected.

Face Capture

The camera supports Face Capture, so it can detect faces in the image and capture pictures of them.

Face Capture should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet does not state that the camera can identify specific people against a face database on its own.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances. Since the camera has motorized zoom, the distances change depending on the lens setting.

At the widest setting, the values are approximately 86 meters for Detect, 34 meters for Observe, 17 meters for Recognize, and 9 meters for Identify.

At maximum telephoto, the values are approximately 214 meters for Detect, 85 meters for Observe, 43 meters for Recognize, and 21 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range or the range for person and vehicle detection.

Supports SD cards up to 256 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. Network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) is also supported.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

DS-2CD2H86G2-IZS supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+, and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

IP66 and IK10

The camera is IP66 rated against water and dust and IK10 rated against physical impact. This makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.

PoE or 12 V DC

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, both power and network data can run through the same network cable.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
