8 MP turret camera with motorized zoom and color images in very low light

DS-2CD2H87G3-LIZS2UY/SL features a 1/1.8" image sensor, F1.2 aperture, and a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. The camera is designed to deliver color images in very low light conditions and uses HikAI-ISP to reduce image noise.

2.8-12 mm motorized zoom

The motorized lens lets you adjust the field of view from 2.8 to 12 mm. This makes the camera suitable for installations where the image area needs to be precisely adjusted after mounting.

At 2.8 mm, you get approximately 112.3° horizontal field of view and therefore a wide overview. At 12 mm, the field of view is approximately 41.2°, so the image can be focused on a smaller area farther away.

Color images in very low light

The camera is specified down to 0.0005 lux in color and is designed to preserve colors even when there is only very little ambient light. This can make it easier to see relevant details such as the color of clothing, cars, and other objects.

Hikvision calls the technology ColorVu, while HikAI-ISP helps reduce noise in the image under challenging lighting conditions.

IR and white light

The camera has both IR and white light with a range of up to 40 meters. It supports 3 different supplementary lighting modes, so the lighting can be adapted to the installation and surveillance needs.

IR makes it possible to monitor a dark area in black and white, while the white light can illuminate the area with visible light.

Person and vehicle detection

The camera uses Deep Learning to distinguish people and vehicles from other movement. This makes it possible to focus alarms on relevant events instead of simply reacting to any motion in the image.

Person and vehicle classification can, among other things, be used together with line crossing, intrusion, region entrance, and region exiting.

White flashing light and audio warning

DS-2CD2H87G3-LIZS2UY/SL can respond to an event with both white flashing light and an audio warning. This gives you the option to make people in the area aware that the camera has detected an event.

Dual microphone and built-in speaker

The camera has two built-in microphones that can record sound from the area around the camera. In addition, it has a built-in speaker, which is used for audio warnings, among other things.

The datasheet also lists one line-in and one line-out, so compatible external audio equipment can be connected. The camera also has 2 alarm inputs and 2 alarm outputs.

Better image in backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark areas, so the image becomes more balanced in places such as entrances, gates, and other areas with large differences in lighting.

In addition, it supports BLC, HLC, 3D DNR, electronic image stabilization, distortion correction, and Defog.

Face Capture

The camera supports Face Capture, so it can detect faces in the image and capture pictures of them.

Face Capture should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet does not state that the camera can identify specific people against a face database on its own.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances. Since the camera has motorized zoom, the distances change depending on the lens setting.

At the widest setting, the values are approximately 89 meters for Detect, 35 meters for Observe, 18 meters for Recognize, and 9 meters for Identify.

At maximum telephoto, the values are approximately 220 meters for Detect, 87 meters for Observe, 44 meters for Recognize, and 22 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s light range or the range for person and vehicle detection.

Supports SD cards up to 512 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 512 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. It also supports network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR).

NEMA 4X corrosion protection

DS-2CD2H87G3-LIZS2UY/SL has a NEMA 4X rating and is designed with corrosion protection. This makes the model relevant for installations where the camera is exposed to more demanding outdoor environmental conditions.

IP67 and IK10

The camera is IP67-rated against water and dust and IK10-rated against physical impact. Both the camera base and cover are made of metal.

PoE+ or 12 V DC

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.

Face Capture

Can register and save faces for later review and search, so you can get all the faces that have been registered over a selected period shown as a kind of crime album.
