8-channel AcuSense recorder with smarter search

DS-7608NXI-K2(D) can record standard IP cameras and also work with Hikvision’s AI features. AcuSense helps distinguish people and vehicles from other movement, while face analysis and Smart Search give you more ways to quickly find the event you’re looking for.

The recorder has room for two hard drives, supports high-resolution cameras, and can display video directly on both HDMI and VGA monitors.

Up to 8 IP cameras

The recorder supports up to 8 IP cameras and can be used for both smaller and larger camera setups, where all cameras are brought together in one system.

The cameras are connected through the network, typically via a separate PoE switch, as this model does not have built-in PoE ports

AcuSense human and vehicle detection

AcuSense uses video analysis to distinguish people and vehicles from other movement in the image.

This helps reduce unnecessary events from things like rain, leaves, changes in light, and other movement that isn’t relevant to surveillance.

Motion Detection 2.0 on all channels

Motion Detection 2.0 is supported on all 8 channels and can classify events as people or vehicles.

This makes it easier to search recordings for the movement you’re actually interested in, instead of ordinary motion detection.

Perimeter Protection

The recorder can perform Perimeter Protection on up to 2 camera channels itself.

This feature is used to monitor defined areas and can, for example, detect people or vehicles crossing a virtual line or entering a monitored area.

AI from compatible Hikvision cameras

If the connected Hikvision camera supports AI analysis itself, the NVR can receive the functions directly from the camera.

This can include facial recognition, Perimeter Protection, Motion Detection 2.0, ANPR, VCA, and detection of objects thrown from buildings.

Face detection

DS-7608NXI-K2(D) can detect and save face images, so recordings can be searched based on registered faces.

The recorder supports face detection directly from one video channel with up to 8 MP.

Facial recognition

Registered face images can be compared with images stored in the recorder’s face libraries.

Up to 16 face libraries can be created with a total of up to 20,000 face images.

Face comparison on up to 4 channels

When using face images from compatible cameras, the recorder can perform face comparison on up to 4 channels.

This makes it possible to use face data from several cameras at the same time without the NVR having to handle all face detection itself.

Smart Search

Smart Search lets you select a specific area in the video image and search for activity in that exact area.

For example, it can be used if you want to find out when someone has been at a specific door, gate, or another part of the image.

Smart Playback

Smart Playback helps you review recordings more efficiently by focusing on periods with relevant events.

This can save time compared to going through long recordings from start to finish.

Supports cameras up to 12 MP

The NVR can record cameras with resolutions up to 12 MP.

This means it can be used with both standard 4 MP and 8 MP cameras, as well as selected models with even higher resolution.

High live-view capacity

The recorder can decode several high-resolution camera streams at the same time.

With AI turned off, it can for example display up to 4 channels at 8 MP or 8 channels at 4 MP at 30 frames per second. When the recorder’s own AI is used, the available decoding capacity is reduced.

8-channel simultaneous playback

Recordings from all 8 cameras can be played back at the same time.

This makes it easier to follow the same event across multiple camera angles.

H.265+ saves storage space

Hikvision H.265+ reduces the amount of data that needs to be stored compared with older video compression.

This can give you longer recording time on the installed hard drives without needing to increase storage capacity accordingly.

Space for 2 hard drives

DS-7608NXI-K2(D) has two SATA slots for surveillance hard drives.

Each hard drive can have a capacity of up to 16 TB, giving you up to 32 TB of total raw storage capacity.

HDMI with up to 4K

The HDMI output supports resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 pixels at 30 Hz.

This makes it possible to display high-resolution camera images directly on a compatible 4K monitor.

HDMI and VGA can be used independently

The recorder has both HDMI and VGA outputs, and they can be used as independent video outputs.

This makes it possible to connect two monitors and use different views on them.

Hik Connect for remote access

Hik-Connect makes it possible to access the surveillance system remotely from compatible mobile devices.

You can, among other things, view the cameras live and watch past recordings when the system is connected to the internet and remote access has been set up.

Access from PC

The recorder can also be accessed through a compatible browser and Hikvision software on a computer.

This makes it possible to do live viewing, playback, and system management from a PC.

4 alarm inputs and 1 alarm output

The NVR has four alarm inputs and one alarm output for connection to compatible external equipment.

This makes it possible to combine sensors and other alarm signals with video surveillance.

Two-way audio

The recorder has RCA audio input and output and supports two-way communication with compatible audio equipment.

Gigabit network

DS-7608NXI-K2(D) has one Gigabit RJ45 network port and supports up to 80 Mbps incoming camera traffic.

Outgoing capacity is up to 160 Mbps.

ONVIF support

The NVR supports ONVIF Profile S and G as well as Hikvision SDK and ISAPI.

This makes it possible to use compatible third-party cameras, but Hikvision’s advanced AI features depend on the camera’s functions and integration with the recorder.

Compatibility

DS-7608NXI-K2(D) supports up to 8 IP cameras. The most advanced AcuSense, ANPR, and VCA functions depend on whether the analysis is performed by the recorder or by a compatible Hikvision camera.
