Box camera from Bosch that can either run analogue or IP

The camera that looks good in low light and can either be used as an analog camera or an IP camera

Built-in intelligent video analysis

The camera has a smart feature called "Intelligent Video Analytics" (IVA). This means that the camera can analyze what it sees and automatically detect certain things, such as people, cars or other objects.
When the camera detects something important, it can immediately send an alarm or message directly to you
It is a function that provides security, because the camera can keep an eye on whether someone is coming and inform you immediately.

  • Detect Important Objects : The camera can automatically recognize and follow different objects, such as people and cars. This means that it can notify if something unexpected happens, such as a person who moves into a certain area.
  • React to Events : If the camera sees something unusual, like someone staying too long in one place or crossing a line you've made, it can send an alert message.
  • Automatic Alignment : The camera has a built-in sensor that helps it align itself completely automatically. This means that the image will always be set correctly so that you do not have to calibrate the camera yourself.
  • Custom Settings : You can set the camera to detect specific things that are important to you. For example, it can be set to recognize certain types of cars or people with certain characteristics.
  • High Precision : The camera detects very well. This reduces the risk of false alarms triggered by wind, rain or other movements that could normally trigger a false alarm.

Night vision with Starlight Technology

The camera uses Starlight technology to take clear and detailed images, even when it is very dark. Instead of traditional infrared (IR) night vision, which typically produces black and white images in the dark, Starlight technology can deliver color images in low light where a normal camera would switch to black and white.

Advantages of Starlight Technology in the Dark

  • Color images in Low Light : Starlight technology needs very little light to create a color image. So where a traditional camera goes to black and white, a camera with Starlight keeps the color image much longer.
  • High Sensitivity : The technology is sensitive to light, making it possible to see details that other cameras would lose in the dark.
  • Clear Images without Glare : Even in challenging lighting conditions, such as when there are strong lights and deep shadows in the same scene, Starlight technology ensures clear images without glare or distortion.

The difference between Starlight and Starlight X is the light sensitivity. Starlight technology can work in low light down to 0.0008 lux, where Starlight X can work all the way down to 0.0003 lux, which means that even if it is almost completely dark, it can still deliver a really good image.

Data Protection and Security

  • Multiple Layers of Security : The camera has multiple levels of protection that work together to ensure that the data and the camera itself are safe from attacks and unauthorized access.
  • Access protection : There are three levels of access protection, which means that only authorized people can change settings or view the recordings. It's like having several locks on a door - only the right keys can open them.
  • Encrypted Data Transport : When data is sent from the camera to a computer or server, it is encrypted. This means that the information is converted into a secret code that can only be read by those who have the right encryption key. This protects the data from being intercepted by hackers.
  • Advanced Certificate Management : The camera uses digital certificates to confirm that it is safe to communicate with other devices. Think of certificates as digital ID cards that ensure the camera only talks to trusted devices and servers.
  • Protection from Attacks : The camera has built-in measures to protect it from malicious attacks. This ensures that hackers cannot gain control of the camera or steal the data.

Local storage

The camera supports one micro SD card for local storage.

  • Micro SDHC Card: Supports up to 32GB
  • Micro SDXC card: Supports up to 2 TB

Motorized Technician Focus to Setup

The camera has motorized focus, which makes it easy to adjust the sharpness during installation

  • Remote adjustment : When the camera is first installed, you can adjust and focus from a computer.
  • Fine Tuning : You can fine-tune the image to ensure it is sharp and covers the desired area.
  • One-time adjustment : After the initial setup is complete, there is no need to adjust the focus regularly. The camera remains in the set position and usually does not need further adjustments unless surveillance needs change

The camera can take sharp pictures of things that are moving

Because the camera can take 60 pictures per second, it is possible to get really sharp pictures of things passing by quickly, such as e.g. a moving car or a person riding a bicycle.

Hybrid Function (IP and Analogue)

The camera supports both IP and analog video output. that is, you can put it on an old analogue system that will later be upgraded to IP, without changing the cameras.

A Bosch surveillance camera is packed with intelligent analysis

The camera is equipped with 16 different types of VCA (Video Content Analysis)

  1. Object in field (object appears in an area)
  2. Crossing line (an object crosses a line)
  3. Loitering (stay in area)
  4. Condition change
  5. Following router (object moves outside the specified route)
  6. Tampering (attempted manipulation)
  7. Removed object (object is removed from a specified position)
  8. Idle object (an object is left behind)
  9. Entering field (object moves into an area)
  10. Leaving field (object leaving field)
  11. Similarity search (objects appear similar)
  12. Crowd detection (objects gather in groups)
  13. Counter (counts how many objects cross a line)
  14. Occupancy (Queue Counter)
  15. Traffic incidents (Traffic incidents)
  16. Traffic wrong way (oncoming traffic)

All these analyzes are available in all Bosch surveillance cameras and help make Bosch one of the best and most widely used European surveillance cameras. You can see more about the options with "Forensic Search" here.

Stand-alone, closed Bosch system or part of 3rd party systems, the camera can do it all.

Independent device with SD card - so you can download all your recordings directly on the Bosch Security APP, completely free of charge and without taking the SD card out of the camera and don't worry if the SD card wears out or breaks, the camera will also keep an eye with it. This solution works well and just as easily as with a hard disk recorder.

Bosch NVR - If the camera is to be used in a larger integrated solution, it can also be connected to a hard disk recorder from Bosch, DIVAR, or via ONVIF a completely 3rd manufacturer

If you use a VMS platform such as Milestone, Genetec or a whole 3. then you can also add the camera via either Private protocol or ONVIF. If you want to take full advantage of META data from the camera, you must check the list of supported cameras on your VMS platform.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.
