Ajax FireProtect Plus smoke alarm
FireProtect Plus is a wireless fire detector that detects smoke, temperature increases and dangerous levels of carbon monoxide (CO). If the alarm is activated, it immediately sends a message to the hub and on to your phone via app, SMS or call.
Detects smoke
FireProtect monitors the air and if it detects smoke, it reacts immediately. It works by sending an invisible beam of light through a small chamber. If smoke particles enter, they interfere with the light and cause the alarm to go off. It does not react to just anything, as it is built to distinguish between real smoke and other elements such as dust or steam.
Responds to temperature changes
In addition to smoke, it can also react to temperature changes. This allows you to get a warning even if there is no visible smoke in the air. If the temperature in a room suddenly increases significantly, or if it reaches above 60 °C, the alarm will automatically go off.
In some situations, a fire develops very quickly, but without smoke at first. This can be the case with an electrical fire, for example. If the temperature rises by more than 30 °C in less than 30 minutes, this is interpreted as a potential hazard and will activate the alarm.
Detects dangerous levels of carbon monoxide (CO)
FireProtect Plus has a built-in CO sensor that detects dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, also known as "the invisible killer".
CO levels are measured continuously and the alarm is activated at the following concentrations:
- 30 ppm (0.003%) – if the level remains for 120 minutes or more
- 50 ppm (0.005%) – if the level remains for 60-89 minutes
- 100 ppm (0.01%) – if the level remains for 10-39 minutes
- 300 ppm (0.03%) – if the level remains for 3 minutes
If the CO concentration drops below 40 ppm (0.004%), the alarm will automatically deactivate.
Optical sensor
It uses an algorithm called HazeFlow that distinguishes between smoke and other elements.
First detection: The sensor detects particles in the air and starts an internal test.
Verification: Instead of triggering an alarm immediately, the detector waits for 30 seconds and checks to see if there is still smoke. If the particles quickly disappear, the alarm is ignored, for example if it was just steam from a boiling pot.
Confirmed fire hazard: If there is still smoke after 30 seconds, the alarm will sound and you will be warned.
All smoke alarms respond simultaneously
If a smoke detector is activated, all other smoke alarms will also go off. It is also possible to connect outdoor and indoor sirens so that neighbors can also hear if a smoke alarm is triggered.
Easy to set up and configure
FireProtect Plus is easy to install: Scan the QR code in the Ajax app, mount it on the ceiling, and configure the device directly in the app.
Range
FireProtect Plus has a range to the hub of up to 1,300 meters in open terrain.
Battery life
The sensor comes with 2 × CR2 main batteries and 1 × CR2032 backup battery with a lifespan of up to 4 years. The lifespan depends on several factors:
- How much it is used – Frequent activation can affect battery life.
- Temperature – Very cold environments can reduce battery performance.
- Battery quality – Quality batteries typically last longer than standard batteries.
Tamper protection
If someone tries to remove the sensor, it sends a tamper alarm to the hub.
Dimensions and weight
- Size: 132 × 132 × 31 mm.
- Weight: 220 g.
- Colors: White or black.
Which Hubs does it fit?
