DS-2CD2446G2-I combines 4 MP video surveillance with Powered-by-DarkFighter, AcuSense and a built-in PIR sensor. The camera also has both a microphone and a speaker, so you can hear sound from the area and talk through the camera.

DarkFighter delivers better images in low light

Powered-by-DarkFighter is designed for surveillance in challenging lighting conditions. With the 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens, the camera has an F1.4 aperture and is specified down to 0.003 lux in color.

This means the camera can make use of very limited light in the surroundings before the built-in IR illumination becomes necessary.

AcuSense focuses on people and vehicles

Hikvision AcuSense uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus alerts on these target types instead of only reacting to ordinary movement in the image.

The camera supports line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting, with the option to trigger alarms based on people and vehicles.

PIR sensor detects body heat

In addition to analyzing the camera image, the DS-2CD2446G2-I has a built-in PIR sensor. PIR stands for passive infrared and reacts to infrared heat, including human body heat.

The sensor has a range of up to 8 meters and covers approximately 90° horizontally and 80° vertically.

Built-in microphone and speaker

The camera has both a built-in microphone and speaker. You can therefore hear sound from the area around the camera and talk back through the built-in speaker.

The speaker is 1 W with a maximum sound pressure of 91 dB measured at 10 cm. The camera also supports environmental noise filtering.

4 MP resolution

The camera has a maximum resolution of 2688 × 1520 pixels. It can deliver up to 25 frames per second at 50 Hz and up to 30 frames per second at 60 Hz.

IR for surveillance in the dark

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 10 meters. When there is not enough light, the camera can continue surveillance with IR and a black-and-white image.

Smart Supplement Light helps control the supplementary IR illumination.

Better image in backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, giving you a more balanced image, for example by windows and doors with strong backlight.

In addition, BLC, HLC and 3D DNR are supported for further image adjustment.

Face Capture

DS-2CD2446G2-I supports Face Capture, so the camera can detect faces in the image and take pictures of them.

Face Capture should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet states Face Capture, but not identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values give a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances and depend on the selected lens.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 64.2 meters for Detect, 25.5 meters for Observe, 12.8 meters for Recognize and 6.4 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range.

Supports SD cards up to 256 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. Network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) is also supported.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

DS-2CD2446G2-I supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

PoE makes installation easier

The camera can be powered with either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, both power and network data can run through the same network cable.

For indoor installation

The camera is made of plastic and is specified for operation from -10 °C to +40 °C. The datasheet does not state any IP rating, so the camera should not be described as a weatherproof outdoor camera.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
