4 MP mini dome camera with DarkFighter and AcuSense

DS-2CD2546G2-IS combines 4 MP video with Hikvision AcuSense and Powered-by-DarkFighter. The compact dome design makes the camera suitable for places where it should not take up much space, while IP67 and IK08 make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.

DarkFighter delivers better images in low light

Powered-by-DarkFighter is developed to provide a better surveillance image when only limited light is available. The camera has an F1.4 aperture and is specified down to 0.003 lux in color.

When there is no longer enough normal light, the camera can switch to IR and continue monitoring in black and white.

AcuSense focuses on people and vehicles

Hikvision AcuSense uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus alarms on these target types instead of only reacting to general movement in the camera image.

The camera supports line crossing, intrusion, region entrance, and region exiting with classification of people and vehicles.

Built-in microphone and audio connections

The camera has a built-in microphone, so sound from the area around the camera can be included in the surveillance.

The IS version also has one line-in and one line-out for connecting external audio equipment. The datasheet does not specify a built-in speaker.

Alarm input and alarm output

DS-2CD2546G2-IS has one alarm input and one alarm output. This makes it possible to connect compatible external alarm equipment to the camera.

4 MP resolution

The camera has a maximum resolution of 2688 × 1520 pixels. It can deliver up to 25 frames per second at 50 Hz and up to 30 frames per second at 60 Hz.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm

DS-2CD2546G2-IS is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens.

2.8 mm provides a horizontal field of view of about 102.7° and is well suited when the camera should give a wide overview of, for example, an entrance, terrace, or larger area.

4 mm provides a horizontal field of view of about 82.8° and gives a more focused view straight ahead.

IR for monitoring in the dark

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 30 meters. Smart Supplement Light helps control the supplementary IR illumination.

Better image in backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, giving you a more balanced image in places such as entrances, windows, and other areas with strong backlight.

In addition, BLC, HLC, and 3D DNR are supported for further image adjustment.

Face Capture

DS-2CD2546G2-IS supports Face Capture, so the camera can detect faces in the image and capture photos of them.

Face Capture should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet specifies Face Capture, but not identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 64 meters for Detect, 26 meters for Observe, 13 meters for Recognize, and 6 meters for Identify.

With 4 mm, the values are approximately 77 meters for Detect, 31 meters for Observe, 16 meters for Recognize, and 8 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range.

Supports SD cards up to 256 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. In addition, network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) is supported.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

The camera supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+, and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

IP67 and IK08

The camera is IP67-rated against water and dust and IK08-rated against physical impact. The base is made of aluminum, while the cover is made of plastic.

PoE or 12 V DC

DS-2CD2546G2-IS can be powered by 12 V DC or via PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, both power and network data can be carried through the same network cable.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
