4K Bosch PTZ camera with 12x optical zoom for extreme environments

MIC IP ultra 7100i is designed for installations where traditional PTZ cameras can be challenged by vibration, impact, corrosion, or extreme weather conditions. The camera has a rugged aluminum housing, IP68 protection, and a closed positioning system that helps it maintain its direction even after strong vibration or shock.

12x optical zoom

The camera has a motorized 9.3-111.6 mm lens with 12x optical zoom. The horizontal field of view ranges from approximately 64.6° at the widest setting to approximately 6.1° at maximum telephoto.

Autofocus and automatic iris help keep the image sharp while zooming. The camera also offers 12x digital zoom.

Continuous 360° panning

MIC IP ultra 7100i can pan continuously through 360° and has a maximum pan speed of 120° per second.

The tilt range is up to 290° depending on the mounting direction, and the camera can be mounted upright, inverted, or angled. Up to 256 preset positions can be saved.

4K UHD resolution

The camera delivers video at up to 3840 × 2160 pixels at up to 30 frames per second. The high resolution provides a detailed image and is especially useful in large surveillance areas where the operator may need to zoom in on small details.

The camera supports H.265, H.264, MJPEG, and JPEG.

Intelligent Video Analytics

The built-in Intelligent Video Analytics can detect, track, and analyze objects directly in the camera. The camera can automatically classify objects as people, cars, bicycles, and trucks.

Analysis functions include line crossing, loitering, removed or abandoned objects, people counting, density measurement, and various forms of traffic monitoring.

Analytics while the camera is moving

Video analytics can work even while the PTZ camera is moving manually or running a guard tour. Alarm fields can be defined across the PTZ views, allowing the camera to detect events in an area while it moves through the scene.

Intelligent Tracking

When the camera's video analytics detects a relevant object, Intelligent Tracking can automatically take over PTZ control and follow the object.

In automatic mode, the camera can follow objects that trigger a defined alarm. In Click mode, the operator can select a detected object directly in the image and have the camera follow it.

Camera Trainer

Camera Trainer makes it possible to teach the camera to recognize custom objects. The feature is trained with examples of desired and undesired objects and can then create its own detectors.

It can be used for both moving and stationary objects and makes the camera's analytics more flexible in specialized installations.

Optical image stabilization

The camera has optical image stabilization, which helps compensate for vibration in both horizontal and vertical directions.

This is especially relevant on bridges, poles, industrial installations, and other locations where vibration would otherwise make the image unstable.

Defroster in the camera window

The camera's front window has a built-in automatic defroster that helps reduce ice and condensation.

Bosch states that the system can melt around 1 cm of ice in about five minutes at temperatures down to -25 °C. The defroster activates automatically at temperatures of 10 °C or below.

IR and white light options

A separate MIC illuminator with both IR and white light can be installed. The accessory supports 850 nm and 940 nm IR as well as white light.

The IR beam can automatically adjust to the camera's zoom level so the lighting follows the field of view. White light can be used for color images in the dark or as visible deterrence.

Robust design against impact, vibration, and corrosion

The camera housing is made of anodized aluminum and has a corrosion-resistant powder coating. Bosch states that the aluminum components have been tested according to ISO 12944-6 C5-M for very demanding maritime environments.

The camera is also IK10-rated and tested against vibration and shock according to, among others, IEC 60068 standards.

IP68 and Type 6P

The camera is designed for harsh outdoor environments and can achieve IP66, IP68, and Type 6P depending on the mounting and connection used.

This means high resistance to dust, water, and immersion when the camera is installed according to Bosch's instructions.

Can operate from -40 °C to +65 °C

The operating temperature is specified from -40 °C to +65 °C. The camera can also withstand short-term temperatures up to +74 °C according to the NEMA TS 2 test profile.

Cold start is specified at -40 °C, where the camera requires about 60 minutes of warm-up before PTZ functions are activated.

Wind load up to 161 km/h

The camera is designed for strong wind and can maintain its position in sustained wind speeds up to 161 km/h.

Depending on the mounting and illuminator, the camera can also maintain position in gusts up to 241-257 km/h.

Local storage on SD card

The camera supports SD cards up to 2 TB for local recording. It can also be used together with Bosch's Video Recording Manager or iSCSI-based network storage.

Pre-alarm recording in RAM can reduce network load while also minimizing wear on the memory card.

Two-way communication

The camera supports two-way full-duplex audio with external line-in and line-out.

Audio can be used both live and together with recordings depending on the system setup.

High PoE or 24 V AC

The camera can be powered by High PoE or 24 V AC. Without an illuminator, a 60 W High PoE midspan can be used, while models with an illuminator require a 95 W midspan.

High PoE and 24 V AC can also be connected at the same time for redundant power. If one power source fails, the camera can continue running on the other.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

PTZ

Stands for Pan, Tilt and Zoom and means the camera can turn right and left, up and down and zoom in to get the best pictures.
You can control it from your mobile, computer or even a joystick. The camera can also be set to constantly patrol between fixed points.

Autotracking

PTZ cameras may have built-in intelligence and keep an eye for you. If something happens that the camera assesses is interesting, it will immediately zoom in and follow the object.
