8MP bullet camera for you who want high resolution and smarter surveillance

IPC-HFW5842E-ZE is an advanced bullet camera in Dahua's WizMind series. It's made for installations where you want both very detailed images and smart features that make it easier to find relevant events and filter out the less important ones.

The camera is well suited for businesses, warehouse areas, courtyards, driveways, façades and other places where you want long-range night vision, flexible zoom and powerful analytics.

AcuPick - fast search in recordings

AcuPick is an intelligent search feature that makes it much easier to find people and vehicles in recordings. Instead of manually going through hours of footage, the system helps you quickly locate the clips that actually contain people or cars.

The feature works by analyzing the video and detecting relevant targets such as people and vehicles. When the camera is used with a compatible Dahua recorder, you can then search directly in the recordings and get the clips where the system estimates the highest likelihood that your searched target appears.

In practice, this means you can for example find all events with people in an area within seconds, instead of scrubbing through long recordings. The system highlights the most relevant clips first, so you can find the event you're looking for faster.

That makes AcuPick a feature many appreciate in daily use, because it saves time and makes the surveillance system much more manageable.

8MP resolution

With 8 megapixels you get a very detailed image, which makes it easier to see small details in both live view and recordings. This is an advantage if you later need to review an event and want to digitally zoom in without losing too much sharpness.

It also gives you a better overview of larger areas, because the image contains more detail from the start. This is especially useful for driveways, gates, parking areas and long façades.

Motorized zoom lens

The camera features a motorized lens from 2.7 mm to 12 mm. That means you can adjust the field of view directly from the system, without having to be physically at the camera to change it.

You can start with a wide view and then fine-tune the image so it better fits the area. This makes the camera flexible if you, for example, want an overview of a large square or more focus on a gate, a fence or a driveway.

IR night illumination

The camera has built-in IR illumination with a range of up to 60 meters. That allows you to monitor the area even when it's completely dark. IR light is invisible to the human eye but enables the camera to produce a clear night image.

The longer range makes this model suitable for larger outdoor areas where you want to see clearly further away from the camera.

AI ISP

Dahua uses AI image processing in this model to continuously adapt the image to the surroundings. It helps the camera bring out more detail and make the image more usable in changing light conditions.

In practice, this means you get a more stable and more usable image, especially in areas where lighting conditions change during the day or where there are challenging contrasts.

Self-learning

The camera uses self-improving analytics, where it learns to recognize different types of targets and their movements more accurately. This helps filter out more irrelevant events over time.

That means surveillance becomes more practical, because the system gets better at focusing on the events that are actually interesting to you.

Person, vehicle and animal detection

The camera can distinguish between people, vehicles, animals and other motion in the image. That makes it easier for you to focus on relevant events instead of getting alerts about everything else.

This is especially useful outdoors, where regular motion detection often reacts to animals, rain, leaves, shadows or other things you aren't interested in.

Perimeter protection

Perimeter protection lets you create rules like line crossing, intrusion, fast movement, parking, loitering and group gathering. The camera can also use classification of people, animals and vehicles to make detections more precise.

It gives you more targeted surveillance so you can keep an extra eye on specific areas like gates, fences, access roads and driveways.

Smart object detection

The camera can detect left-behind or removed objects. That means you can get notified if something is left in a spot, or if something disappears from an area you are monitoring.

This can be relevant for goods reception, storage zones, entrances or other places where it's important to detect changes in the area.

SMD 3.0, smart motion detection

SMD 3.0 is Dahua's smart motion detection. The feature analyzes motions in the image and helps sort out much of the irrelevant activity. That makes it easier to get an event list that is actually useful.

You therefore get more manageable surveillance, because the system focuses more on relevant movements rather than random events.

Face detection

The camera can detect faces, track them in the image and save snapshots. That makes it easier to find events where people have been close enough to the camera that their face is visible.

This is especially useful at entrances, gates, reception areas and other places where you want clear images of people passing by.

People counting

The camera can count people entering and leaving an area, and it can also monitor how many are staying in a zone. That allows you to use the camera for more than just regular surveillance.

This can be useful in stores, entrances, common areas or waiting areas where you want an overview of flow, occupancy or dwell time.

Heat map

Heat map shows where there is most activity in the image over time. It gives you a visual overview of which areas people use the most and where almost nothing happens.

It can be useful if you want to understand movement patterns in an area or optimize placement of fixtures, access routes or cameras.

Video metadata

The camera can detect and store extra information about people, vehicles, faces and other objects in the image. This can include colors, type, clothing and other visible characteristics.

It makes searching recordings more precise and effective, especially when the camera is used with a compatible Dahua recorder.

Smart sound detection

The camera can react to certain sound types, for example screams or the sound of breaking glass. That means surveillance not only looks at the image but can also react to audio events in the area.

It can be a big advantage in places where an incident doesn't necessarily start with motion in the image, but instead with a sound you want to detect quickly.

Wide Dynamic Range

The camera has 120 dB WDR, which helps balance very bright and very dark areas in the same image. This is especially important at entrances, glass façades and exteriors where sunlight can create strong contrasts.

It means you can more easily see both a person in shadow and the bright area in the background without losing detail or getting too dark an image.

AI SSA

AI SSA helps the camera automatically adapt the image to the scene. That means the camera continuously evaluates the environment and adjusts the image so you get a more usable result without constantly having to fine-tune manually.

It is especially useful in areas with changing light and different types of subjects during the day.

EPTZ

The camera supports EPTZ, which is electronic zoom and panning within the image. This makes it easier to highlight a part of the image in live view or recordings without losing the overall overview.
It can be useful if you want to zoom in on an event in a specific area of the image without changing the camera's physical position.

Image stabilization and defog

The camera has electronic image stabilization, which helps reduce shake in the image. This is especially useful on a zoom camera where small movements can otherwise become very noticeable.
Defog can improve visibility in fog or haze, giving you a more usable image in challenging weather conditions.

Built-in microphone

The camera has a built-in microphone so you can record audio along with video. This can give you extra information about events, since sound sometimes reveals things that are not clearly visible in the image alone.

It can for example be voices, noise, shouting or other sounds that add context to the recording.

Audio in and out

In addition to the built-in microphone, the camera also has audio in and out. This lets you connect external audio equipment if the installation requires it.
This can be relevant in solutions where you want more flexibility around audio than the built-in hardware alone can provide.

Alarm in and out

The camera has 2 alarm inputs and 1 alarm output, so you can have it work together with other equipment. This could for example be sensors, relays or other parts of a complete security solution.

It gives you more options if the camera should be part of a more advanced installation.

ePoE

The camera supports ePoE, which makes it possible to carry power and data over longer distances than with standard network connections. This can make installation easier and more flexible in larger buildings or on larger outdoor sites.

It's a clear advantage if the camera needs to be mounted somewhere far from the network equipment.

SD card recording

The camera supports microSD cards up to 1 TB, so you can store recordings directly on the camera. This can be used as local storage or as extra backup if the connection to the recorder is temporarily interrupted.

It gives you more flexibility in both small and larger installations.

IP67 and IK10

The camera is IP67 rated, which means it is protected against dust and rain. It can therefore be used both indoors and outdoors when mounted correctly.
It also has an IK10 rating, which means the housing has high resistance to impact. That makes the model suitable for locations where the camera is more exposed.

Mounting

The camera can be mounted directly on a wall or ceiling with appropriate brackets. If you want a cleaner installation or more space for connections, a junction box or a pole mount can be a good solution.

You can always check the "accessories" tab on the camera to find the brackets and mounting parts that fit this exact model.
