Den professionelle måde at levere strøm, til et PoE-kamera, er gennem netværkskablet.
På den måde behøver man kun at trække et enkelt kabel til hvert kamera - og skal ikke døje med 230V og små strømforsyninger.
Strømmen til kameraet leveres gennem netværkskablet fra enten...
- en optager med indbygget PoE, også kaldet NVR. Et typisk valg for installationer op til og med 8 kameraer.
- en PoE-switch. Populært fortalt en fordelerdåse til netværkskabler. Det typiske valg på store installationer eller hvis man ønsker fleksibel kabelføring.
- en PoE-injector. Kan kun levere strøm til et kamera.
Af samme grund følger der ikke strømforsyning med PoE-kameraer. Du kan bestille en klassisk strømforsyning her, hvis du ikke ønsker at benytte PoE.

The surveillance camera is from Hikvision's AcuSense series. That means it can notify you about people and vehicles and reduce false alarms from e.g. animals, shadows and moving trees. It's well suited for private homes, where the camera can be mounted up high.

About the camera
The camera is part of Hikvision's mini-bullet series. These are small bullet cameras that aren't as robust in the mounting joint. Therefore they should be mounted where they can't be reached. The camera is IP67-approved, which means it's resistant to all weather conditions and can be mounted both indoors and outdoors. The camera is also easy to mount, as it can be placed on vertical, horizontal and angled surfaces.
Human and vehicle detection (AcuSense)
Although the camera is intelligent, it still needs input from you. Once mounted, you can choose between several types of smart events:
Intrusion detection: Here you draw a rectangle in the image. When a target moves into the rectangle and stays longer than allowed (1–10 seconds), your reaction is triggered.
Line crossing: Detects when a target crosses the line you have drawn. It can be registered in both directions or only one way. This can for example be used on one-way streets, so an alarm is given when driving against traffic, or in a driveway where you only want a notification on arrival and not on departure.
What is a reaction? A reaction is the event that is triggered when a rule is violated. Depending on the camera model, the following options exist:
- Push notification to your phone (receive an image directly on your phone of the target that broke the rule, with a link for direct playback in the app).
- Send e-mail (use with caution, as your mail provider may close your account for suspected spamming if too many images are sent).
- Flash white light.
- Warning sound (siren or voice alert - you can also record your own messages).*
To have all features you must choose models whose model number ends with IU/SL.
Which AcuSense cameras can do what?
The camera's features are indicated by the model name:
- DS-2CDXXX6G2H-I = Standard with infrared nightvision.
- DS-2CDXXX6G2H-IU = With infrared nightvision and microphone.
- DS-2CDXXX6G2H-IU/SL = With infrared nightvision, microphone, white strobe light and speaker.
IP67-approved
The camera is IP67-rated, which means it is resistant to all weather conditions. The camera can be mounted both indoors and outdoors.
- Dust-tight (6): Full protection against dust.
- Waterproof for immersion (7): Withstands temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre deep for up to 30 minutes.
Supports microSD cards
The camera supports microSD cards up to 512 GB (memory card not included, but can be bought here).
About the lens
The camera is available with several lenses, and the choice of lens affects the FOV (Field of View).
2.8 mm lens gives:
- Horizontal FOV: 105.1°
- Vertical FOV: 54.8°
- Diagonal FOV: 128.2°
4 mm lens gives:
- Horizontal FOV: 90°
- Vertical FOV: 45.8°
- Diagonal FOV: 109.4°
Mounting
The camera is easy to mount and can be placed directly on a wall, ceiling or eave. A back box or bracket may be needed if the cable connections cannot be hidden in the wall, ceiling or eave. Under the 'accessories' tab you can see which brackets fit the camera.
