The surveillance camera is from Hikvision’s AcuSense family, which means it is especially well suited to sending notifications to your phone about people and vehicles. The camera is extra light-sensitive, so it delivers really good images in low light.

About the camera

The camera comes from Hikvision’s Turret series. These are cameras that are very robust and require very little maintenance. It is made of metal and is very rugged, making it vandal-resistant. The camera is IP67 approved, which means it can withstand harsh weather and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The camera has 3-axis adjustment, so it is very easy to install, as it can be mounted on vertical, horizontal and angled surfaces.

People and vehicle detection (AcuSense)

Even though the camera is intelligent, it still needs some input from you. Once the camera is installed, you can choose between several types of "smart events", including "Intrusion detection", where a box is drawn in the image and when a target moves into the box and stays longer than you have allowed (1-10 seconds), your "reaction" is triggered.
There is also line crossing, which detects whether a "target" moves across the line you have drawn. This can work in both directions or only one. It can, for example, be used on one-way roads so an alarm is triggered if someone drives the wrong way, or in a driveway so you only get notified when people arrive, but not when they leave.

What is a reaction? The event triggered when a rule is violated is called a "reaction". Depending on the model chosen, there are different options.
Most commonly used "reactions":

• Push notification on mobile (have an image sent directly to your phone of the target that broke the rule, with a link to direct playback in the app)
• Send email (this function should be used with caution, as the email provider may close your account on suspicion of spamming if too many images are sent)
• Flash white light
• Warning sound (siren or voice warning - there is also the option to record your own messages)*
• Alarm output (open a garage door, switch on lights, send a signal to your alarm system, interact with IHC, etc.)

Which AcuSense cameras can do what?

The model name tells you which features the camera has, if it ends with:

• DS-2CDXXX6G2H-I = Standard with infrared night vision
• DS-2CDXXX6G2H-IU= With infrared night vision and one microphone
• DS-2CDXXX6G2H-ISU = With infrared night vision, one microphone, alarm input and output
• DS-2CDXXX6G2H-IS2U/SL = With infrared night vision, dual microphone, alarm input and output, plus white strobe light and speaker

IP67 approved

The camera is IP67 rated. This means it can withstand wind and weather. The camera can be used both indoors and outdoors.

• Dust-tight (6): Full protection against dust.
• Waterproof against immersion (7): Can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes.

Supports micro-SD card

The camera can take a micro-SD card up to 512GB

About the lens

The camera is available with several lenses, and the lens affects the "FOV" (Field Of View), or in Danish: viewing angle.
A 2.8 mm lens gives a horizontal FOV of 105°, vertical FOV of 56° and diagonal FOV of 130°
A 4 mm lens gives a horizontal FOV of 90°, vertical FOV of 47° and diagonal FOV of 111°

Installation

The camera is very easy to install and can be mounted directly on a wall or on a ceiling/eave. A back box/bracket may be necessary if the connection cannot be placed behind the wall, ceiling or eave.
