På den måde behøver man kun at trække et enkelt kabel til hvert kamera - og skal ikke døje med 230V og små strømforsyninger.
Strømmen til kameraet leveres gennem netværkskablet fra enten...
- en optager med indbygget PoE, også kaldet NVR. Et typisk valg for installationer op til og med 8 kameraer.
- en PoE-switch. Populært fortalt en fordelerdåse til netværkskabler. Det typiske valg på store installationer eller hvis man ønsker fleksibel kabelføring.
- en PoE-injector. Kan kun levere strøm til et kamera.
Af samme grund følger der ikke strømforsyning med PoE-kameraer. Du kan bestille en klassisk strømforsyning her, hvis du ikke ønsker at benytte PoE.

The surveillance camera is from Hikvision's AcuSense family, which means it's particularly suited to sending you alerts on your phone for people and vehicles.

About the camera
The camera comes from Hikvision's Turret series. These are very robust cameras that require very little maintenance. It's made of metal and is very tough and therefore vandal-resistant. The camera is IP67-rated, which means it can stand up to heavy weather and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The camera is 3-axis and therefore very easy to mount, as it can be placed on vertical, horizontal and sloped surfaces.
Human and vehicle detection (AcuSense)
Although the camera is intelligent, it still needs some input from you. Once the camera is installed, you can choose between several types of "smart events", including "Intrusion Detection" where a box is drawn in the image and when a target moves into the box and stays longer than you allow (1-10 seconds) your "reaction" is triggered.
There is also line crossing, which detects if a "target" crosses the line you have drawn. It can be either direction or only one way. For example, it can be used for one-way streets so you get an alarm for driving the wrong way, or for a driveway so you only get notified when people arrive, not when they leave.
What is a reaction? The event that is triggered when a rule is violated is called a "reaction." Depending on the model chosen, you have different options.
Most used "reactions":
- Push notification to your mobile (receive an image directly on your phone of the target that broke the rule, with a link to play the video directly in the APP)
- Send email (use this function with caution, as email providers may close your account for suspected spamming if too many images are sent)
- Flash with white light
- Warning sound (siren or voice alert - there's also the option to record your own messages)*
- Alarm output (open a garage door, turn on lights, send a signal to your alarm system, interact with IHC etc.
To have all functions you must choose the models where the model number ends with IS2U/SL
Which AcuSense cameras can do what?
The model name tells you which functions the camera has if it ends with:
- DS-2CDXXX6G2H-I = Standard with infrared night vision
- DS-2CDXXX6G2H-IU = With infrared night vision and one microphone
- DS-2CDXXX6G2H-ISU = With infrared night vision, one microphone, alarm input and output
- DS-2CDXXX6G2H-IS2U/SL = With infrared night vision, dual microphones, alarm input and output, plus white strobe light and speaker
IP67 rated
The camera is IP67-rated. That means it can withstand wind and weather. The camera can be used both indoors and outdoors.
- Dust tight (6): Full protection against dust.
- Waterproof for immersion (7): Can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter depth for up to 30 minutes.
Supports micro-SD card
The camera can accept a micro-SD card up to 512GB

About the lens
The camera is available with several lenses and the lens affects the "FOV" (Field Of View) or in Danish: synsvinkel.
A 2.8 mm lens gives a horizontal FOV of 100°, vertical FOV 55° and diagonal FOV 120°
A 4 mm lens gives a horizontal FOV of 81°, vertical FOV 45° and diagonal FOV 95°
Mounting
The camera is very easy to mount and can be attached directly to the wall or ceiling/eave. A junction box/bracket may be necessary if the connection cannot sit behind the wall, ceiling or eave.
