4 MP AcuSense dome camera with audio and alarm connection

DS-2CD2143G2-IS combines 4 MP video surveillance with Hikvision AcuSense and features for monitoring people and vehicles. The IS version also includes input and output for both audio and alarm equipment, giving you more options for integration with other devices.

AcuSense focuses on people and vehicles

Hikvision AcuSense uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. The camera can therefore focus relevant alerts on these target types.

This can be especially useful at entrances, driveways, and other areas where you mainly want to detect people and vehicles.

Line crossing and intrusion

The camera supports line crossing and intrusion with classification of people and vehicles. For example, you can define a virtual line and detect when a person or vehicle crosses it.

Intrusion can be used to monitor a defined area and trigger an event when relevant targets are detected in the area.

4 MP delivers a detailed image

DS-2CD2143G2-IS has a maximum resolution of 2688 × 1520 pixels. This provides more detail than traditional Full HD and is well suited for general surveillance of, for example, entrances, buildings, and outdoor areas.

The camera can deliver up to 25 frames per second at full resolution at 50 Hz.

Up to 30 meters of IR in the dark

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 30 meters. When there is not enough normal light, the camera can switch to black and white and use IR for surveillance in the dark.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

DS-2CD2143G2-IS is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens.

2.8 mm provides a horizontal field of view of about 103° and is a great choice for areas where you want a wide overview, such as entrances, terraces, and courtyards.

4 mm provides a horizontal field of view of about 84° and focuses the image more forward. This can be an advantage, for example, at driveways, gates, and passages.

Better image in challenging backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, so the image becomes more balanced in situations such as backlighting. This can be useful at entrances or other places where lighting conditions vary a lot within the same image.

The camera also supports BLC, HLC, and 3D DNR for further image adjustment.

Audio input and audio output

The IS version has one audio input and one audio output for connecting compatible external audio equipment. The camera supports mono audio and noise filtering from the surroundings.

The datasheet does not specify a built-in microphone or speaker. A microphone and other audio equipment must therefore be connected externally if audio is to be used.

Alarm input and alarm output

DS-2CD2143G2-IS has one alarm input and one alarm output. This makes it possible to connect the camera to compatible external alarm equipment and integrate it into a larger surveillance solution.

Face Detection

The camera supports Face Detection, so it can detect when a face appears in the image.

Face Detection should not be confused with facial recognition. The function detects faces, but the datasheet does not specify identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the level of detail that can be expected at different distances.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 67 meters for Detect, 26 meters for Observe, 13 meters for Recognize, and 6 meters for Identify.

With 4 mm, the values are approximately 80 meters for Detect, 31 meters for Observe, 16 meters for Recognize, and 8 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the IR range, which is up to 30 meters.

Supports SD cards up to 256 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. In addition, network storage via NAS is supported.

H.265+ reduces storage use

DS-2CD2143G2-IS supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+, and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

PoE makes installation easier

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, power and network data can be sent through the same network cable.

This usually means that only one cable needs to be run to the camera when it is connected to a compatible PoE switch or PoE recorder.

IP67 and IK10

The camera has a housing made of aluminum alloy and is rated both IP67 and IK10. IP67 protects the camera against dust and water, while IK10 means the design is built to withstand physical impact.

The camera can be used at temperatures from -30 °C to +60 °C.
