8 MP AcuSense dome camera with DarkFighter and audio

DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU combines 8 MP / 4K resolution with DarkFighter and Deep Learning-based classification of people and vehicles. The ISU version also includes a built-in microphone as well as connections for external audio and alarm equipment.

AcuSense focuses on people and vehicles

The camera’s Deep Learning features can classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus relevant alarms on these target types rather than ordinary movement in the image.

It can, for example, be used at entrances, driveways, and other areas where the main things you want to detect are people or vehicles.

Line crossing and monitoring of specific areas

DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU supports line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting. These functions can trigger alarms based on the specified target types, people and vehicles.

For example, you can create a virtual line by a gate or driveway, or define an area where the camera should react when a person or a vehicle moves in or out.

8 MP provides a detailed 4K image

The camera has a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, equal to 8 MP / 4K. The high resolution provides plenty of image detail, giving you good opportunities to see smaller details in the recordings.

At 50 Hz, the camera can deliver up to 25 frames per second at full 4K resolution.

DarkFighter for very low light

DarkFighter is designed to provide better images when only very little light is available. The camera is specified down to 0.0008 lux in color at F1.0.

The large 1/1.8" image sensor and bright F1.0 aperture help the camera make the most of existing light. When it gets completely dark, the camera can switch to black and white and use the built-in IR illumination.

Built-in microphone

The ISU version has a built-in microphone, so audio can be recorded together with the video without needing a separate microphone. The camera supports mono audio and noise filtering from the surroundings.

Connecting external audio equipment

In addition to the built-in microphone, the camera has one audio input and one audio output. This makes it possible to connect compatible external audio equipment if the installation requires it.

Alarm input and alarm output

The ISU version has one alarm input and one alarm output for integration with compatible external alarm equipment.

In the event of incidents, the camera can among other things start recording, take snapshots, send email, or notify the monitoring center.

IR illumination for surveillance in the dark

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 30 meters. This makes it possible to continue surveillance in complete darkness with a black-and-white image.

Smart Supplement Light helps control the supplemental IR illumination.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens.

2.8 mm provides approximately a 105° horizontal field of view and is well suited for areas where you want a broad overview, for example at entrances, terraces, and courtyards.

4 mm provides approximately a 90° horizontal field of view and focuses the image more forward. This can be an advantage at driveways, gates, and passageways.

Better image in difficult backlighting

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, giving you a more balanced image in situations such as backlighting. This is useful at entrances and other places where lighting conditions vary a lot within the same image.

The camera also supports BLC, HLC and 3D DNR for further image adjustment.

Face Capture

DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU supports Face Capture, so the camera can detect faces in the image and take pictures of them.

Face Capture should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet states Face Capture, but not identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances from the camera.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 89 meters for Detect, 35 meters for Observe, 17 meters for Recognize, and 8 meters for Identify.

With 4 mm, the values are approximately 109 meters for Detect, 43 meters for Observe, 21 meters for Recognize, and 10 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range.

Supports SD cards up to 512 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 512 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. Network storage via NAS is also supported.

With compatible Hikvision memory cards, encryption of the memory card and monitoring of card status are also supported.

H.265+ reduces storage use

DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

PoE makes installation easier

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, both power and network data can run through the same network cable.

This usually means only one cable needs to be run to the camera when connecting it to a compatible PoE switch or PoE recorder.

IP67 and IK10

The camera base and cover are made from aluminum alloy. IP67 protects against dust and water, while IK10 means the construction is designed to withstand physical impact.

The camera can be used at temperatures from -30 °C to +60 °C. The datasheet states that the model does not have any special corrosion protection.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.
