4 MP turret camera with motorized zoom and strong performance in low light

DS-2CD2H46G2-IZS combines 4 MP resolution with a motorized 2.8-12 mm lens. This gives you the option to adjust the field of view after installation, while the camera’s good light sensitivity helps keep the image usable when there is only a little light.

2.8-12 mm motorized zoom

The motorized lens makes it possible to adjust the field of view from 2.8 to 12 mm. This is useful when the camera is first mounted and the final viewing angle then needs to be adapted to the area being monitored.

At 2.8 mm, you get about a 108° horizontal field of view, providing a wide overview. At 12 mm, the field of view becomes about 30°, so the camera can focus on a smaller area farther away.

Good in very low light

The camera is designed to deliver a usable color image in very low light and is specified down to 0.003 lux. That can be an advantage in areas with only limited ambient light in the evening and at night.

When there is not enough light for a color image, the camera can use the built-in IR illumination and continue monitoring in black and white.

Person and vehicle detection

The camera uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus alarms on these targets instead of simply reacting to any movement in the image.

The camera supports, among other things, line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting. This gives you the option to define areas and lines in the image for more targeted monitoring.

IR for monitoring in the dark

The built-in IR illumination has a range of up to 40 meters. The camera can therefore continue monitoring in completely dark areas, where the image is shown in black and white.

Better image in backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, so the image becomes more balanced at places such as entrances, gates, windows, and other areas with large light differences.

In addition, BLC, HLC and 3D DNR are supported for further adjustment and image enhancement.

Audio and alarm connections

DS-2CD2H46G2-IZS has one line-in and one line-out for connecting external audio equipment. In addition, the camera has one alarm input and one alarm output for compatible external equipment.

The datasheet does not state that the camera has a built-in microphone or speaker. A microphone or other audio equipment must therefore be connected externally if audio is needed.

Face Capture

The camera supports Face Capture, so it can detect faces in the camera image and capture pictures of them.

Face Capture should not be confused with face recognition. The datasheet does not state that the camera can identify specific people against a face database on its own.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances. Since the camera has motorized zoom, the distances change depending on the lens setting.

At the widest setting, the values are approximately 64 meters for Detect, 25 meters for Observe, 13 meters for Recognize, and 6 meters for Identify.

At maximum telephoto, the values are approximately 190 meters for Detect, 75 meters for Observe, 38 meters for Recognize, and 19 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range or the range for person and vehicle detection.

Supports SD cards up to 256 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be saved directly in the camera. In addition, network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) is supported.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

DS-2CD2H46G2-IZS supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

IP66 and IK10

The camera is IP66-rated against water and dust and IK10-rated against physical impact. This makes the camera suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.

PoE or 12 V DC

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, both power and network data can run through the same network cable, which can make installation easier.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.

Face Capture

Can register and save faces for later review and search, so you can get all the faces that have been registered over a selected period shown as a kind of crime album.
