PoE switch for 8 cameras

Uniview NSW2020-10T-POE-IN is a 10-port network switch with 8 PoE ports and 2 standard network ports.

It is designed for installations where several IP cameras need both power and network connection through a single cable. That means you do not need separate power supplies at each camera.

The switch is unmanaged and requires no programming. Connect the cameras, link the switch to your recorder or your network, and choose the desired operating mode.

8 PoE ports and 2 network ports

The 8 PoE ports can supply compatible surveillance cameras with both power and data.

The 2 remaining ports can, for example, be used to connect the switch to an NVR recorder and the existing network.

All 10 ports support 10/100 Mbps, which is well suited for many common IP cameras.

88W for your cameras

The switch has a total PoE budget of 88W and can deliver up to 30W on a single PoE port.

This means you can connect both standard PoE cameras and compatible PoE+ cameras, as long as their total power consumption stays within the 88W limit.

For example, 8 cameras using 8W each would use 64W in total, leaving room within the switch's overall PoE budget.

Extend function - up to 250 meters

Normally, a maximum cable length of 100 meters is recommended for standard Ethernet connections.

With the switch's Extend function, the transmission distance can be increased to up to 250 meters, which can be a big advantage in surveillance installations.

For example, this can be useful if you need to mount a camera at a gate, on a warehouse building, or somewhere else far from the technical room.

The Extend mode is intended for surveillance use. The actual range depends on factors such as cable quality, the connected equipment, and power consumption. The datasheet does not specify a particular speed for Extend mode.

Normal or Extend - choose according to the installation

The switch has two operating modes:

  • Normal: All ports can communicate with each other. Used for standard network installations.
  • Extend: Allows transmission distances of up to 250 meters and is intended for longer cable runs in video surveillance.

You can therefore choose the mode that fits the needs of the installation.

Traffic prioritization on ports 1 and 2

The switch supports network traffic prioritization on ports 1 and 2.

This can be useful when certain connections need to be prioritized, for example in a surveillance system with several cameras sending video at the same time.

Plug & Play without programming

Since the switch is unmanaged, you do not need to log in to an administration page or configure network settings.

That makes it easy to use for both smaller and larger camera setups, where you simply need to connect the equipment.

Fanless and compact

The switch has a metal housing and is built without a fan.

That means there is no fan noise, and it is well suited for placement in, for example, a technical cabinet, on a shelf, or in a smaller network area.

With dimensions of 171 x 103 x 25 mm, it does not take up much space.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.
