MotionProtect Jeweller is one of the most used motion sensors in the Ajax alarm system. The sensor combines fast detection, stable wireless communication and intelligent false alarm filtering in a compact solution for both homes and businesses.

Detects motion up to 12 meters

The sensor monitors areas up to 12 meters in front of the device when mounted correctly. That makes it suitable for spaces like entrances, living rooms, offices, shops and storage areas. We recommend mounting the sensor at about 2.4 meters height for optimal coverage.

PIR sensor with intelligent motion detection

MotionProtect uses a PIR sensor that detects changes in heat radiation from people. The sensor analyzes movement patterns and can distinguish between real motion and many common environmental disturbances.

SmartDetect reduces false alarms

The Ajax SmartDetect algorithm helps reduce false alarms from, for example, heat sources, curtains, ventilation or other minor influences in the room. This provides more stable operation in everyday use.

Ignores small pets

When mounted correctly, MotionProtect can ignore small pets up to 20 kg and 50 cm. That makes it suitable for homes and businesses where small animals are present.

However, pet immunity depends heavily on where the animal is relative to the sensor. If a pet jumps onto furniture, moves close to the sensor or directly enters the sensor's detection zone, an alarm can still occur. Therefore, pet immunity is never 100% fail-safe.

If you want the most stable solution in areas with pets, we often recommend combining the alarm system with magnetic contacts on doors and windows. That way the alarm can still monitor access points without the risk of motion alarms from pets.

Stable detection in heat and cold

The sensor has temperature compensation, which automatically adjusts sensitivity based on the room temperature. This helps the sensor correctly detect people even when room temperature approaches body temperature.

Wireless communication with the Ajax hub

MotionProtect communicates wirelessly with the Ajax hub via Jeweller technology. The system constantly monitors the connection and notifies you of signal problems, sabotage or lost connection.

Long wireless range

The sensor has a wireless range of up to 1,700 meters in open space. That makes it suitable for both small installations and larger buildings. If needed, range can be extended with Ajax ReX signal repeaters.

Up to 5 years battery life

MotionProtect is powered by a CR123A battery with up to 5 years of battery life under normal conditions. The system notifies you well in advance when the battery needs replacing.

Protection against tampering

The sensor has a built-in tamper function that detects if someone tries to remove the device from the wall or open the casing. If that happens, the system is notified immediately.

Easy installation

MotionProtect is quickly mounted using the included SmartBracket bracket without the need to open the sensor during installation. Adding it to the system is done by scanning the QR code in the Ajax app.
