Network recorder for small and medium surveillance systems

Dahua NVR4108-8P-4KS3 is an 8-channel network recorder suitable for both residential and commercial use. It receives video from IP cameras, stores recordings on a hard drive, and lets you view live footage or review recordings later.

The recorder can serve as the central unit in a smaller surveillance setup and includes features that help you quickly find relevant events in the recordings.

 

8 built-in PoE ports

The recorder has eight PoE ports, so you can connect up to eight cameras directly to the unit.
The cameras receive both power and network connection over the same cable, which simplifies installation and reduces the need for extra equipment.

 

SMD Plus - easier to find relevant recordings

SMD Plus analyzes motion in the image and can distinguish between people, vehicles and other movement.
That makes it easier for you to find times when people or cars were in the area. Instead of reviewing all motion-triggered footage, you can focus on the events that are usually most relevant.

The system also filters many types of motion that often trigger false alarms, such as leaves, rain or lighting changes.

 

Face detection and face recognition

When used with compatible cameras, the system can detect faces in the image.
Face detection can help you find video clips where people appear, while face recognition can compare faces against a database to identify specific individuals.
This can be useful in installations where you want to be able to search for certain people in the recordings.

 

Perimeter features

Perimeter features let you create virtual lines or areas in the image.
If a person or vehicle crosses a line or moves into a defined area, the system can register the event and make it easier for you to find the footage.
This feature is often used to monitor driveways, gates or restricted areas.

The recorder can be used with IP cameras with resolutions up to 12 megapixels.
