5MP turret camera for when you want more than ordinary surveillance

IPC-HDW5541TM-ASE-S3 is an advanced turret camera in Dahua’s WizMind series. It’s designed for installations where you want both a clear image and intelligent features that make it easier to find relevant events and filter out the less important ones.

The camera is well suited for businesses, entrances, courtyards, common areas, storage zones and other places where you want stable surveillance with good image quality, clear night images and several smart analytics features.

Fixed lens

The camera is available with a fixed lens in 2.8 mm, 3.6 mm or 6 mm. That means you can choose the field of view that best fits the area you want to monitor. A shorter lens gives you a wider overview, while a longer lens gives a more focused section.

This makes the camera flexible, since you can pick the model depending on whether you want to monitor a wide driveway, a door, a goods area or a more confined area further away.

IR night light

The camera has built-in IR lights with a range of up to 50 meters. That makes it possible to monitor the area even when it’s completely dark. The IR light is invisible to the human eye but allows the camera to produce a clear black-and-white night image.

That means you can still get usable recordings even if there is no regular lighting in the area at night.

AI Powered Image

Dahua uses AI image processing in this model to continuously adapt the image to the surroundings. This helps the camera bring out more details and make the image more useful in changing light conditions.

In practice, that means you get a more stable and more usable image in everyday use, especially in areas where lighting conditions change during the day or where there are challenging contrasts.

Human and vehicle detection

The camera can distinguish between people, vehicles and other movements in the image. That makes it easier for you to focus on the events that actually matter instead of getting lots of irrelevant alarms.

It’s especially useful outdoors, where basic motion detection often reacts to animals, rain, leaves, shadows or other things you’re not interested in.

Perimeter protection

Perimeter protection allows you to create rules like line crossing, intrusion, fast moving, parking, loitering and crowd gathering. The camera can also use classification of people and vehicles to make detection more accurate.

This gives you more targeted surveillance, so you can keep an extra eye on specific areas like gates, fences, driveways or access routes.

Smart object detection

The camera can also detect left-behind or removed objects. That means you can get notified if an item is left in a place or if something disappears from an area you’re monitoring.

That can be relevant in reception areas, goods zones, storage areas or other places where it’s important to spot changes in the environment.

SMD 3.0, smart motion detection

SMD 3.0 is Dahua’s smart motion detection. The feature analyzes movements in the image and helps filter out much of the irrelevant activity. That makes it easier to get an event list that’s actually useful.

As a result, your surveillance becomes more manageable because the system focuses more on people and vehicles rather than random movements.

Face detection

The camera can detect faces, track them in the image and save snapshots. That makes it easier to find events where people have been close enough to the camera for their face to be visible.

It’s especially useful at entrances, access points, reception areas and other places where you want clear images of people passing by.

Facial attributes

When the camera detects a face, it can also extract a number of visual attributes, for example age, gender, glasses, mask, beard and facial expression. This is not meant to be used as identification alone, but it can make searching and sorting recordings more efficient.

That means you get more information linked to the event, which can be useful when recordings need to be reviewed later.

People counting

The camera can count people entering and leaving an area, and it can also monitor how many are present in a zone. That makes it possible to use the camera for more than ordinary surveillance.

It can be useful in shops, entrances, common areas or waiting areas where you want an overview of flow, occupancy or dwell time.

Heat map

Heat map shows where there is the most activity in the image over time. It gives you a visual overview of which areas people use most and where almost nothing happens.
It can be useful if you want to understand movement patterns in an area or optimize placement of fixtures, access paths or surveillance.

Video metadata

The camera can record and store extra information about people, vehicles, bicycles and other objects in the image. This can include colors, type, clothing and other visible characteristics.

That makes searching recordings more precise and efficient, especially when the camera is used with a compatible Dahua recorder.

Smart sound detection

The camera can respond to certain types of sound, for example screams or the sound of breaking glass. That means the surveillance not only looks at the image but can also react to audio events in the area.

It can be a big advantage in places where an incident doesn’t necessarily start with movement in the image, but instead with a sound you want to detect quickly.

Wide Dynamic Range

The camera has 120 dB WDR, which helps balance very bright and very dark areas in the same image. This is especially important at entrances, glass facades and fronts where sunlight can create strong contrasts.

That means it’s easier to see both the person in the shadow and the bright area in the background without the image blowing out or becoming too dark.

AI SSA

AI SSA helps the camera automatically adapt the image to the scene. That means the camera continuously evaluates the surroundings and adjusts the image so you get a more useful result without having to fine-tune manually all the time.

It’s especially useful in areas with changing light and different types of subjects during the day.

Built-in microphone

The camera has a built-in microphone so you can record audio together with video. That can give you extra information about events, because sound sometimes tells you something important that isn’t clearly visible in the image alone.

For example, it can capture voices, noise, shouting or other sounds that add context to the recording.

Audio in and out

In addition to the built-in microphone, the camera also has audio in and out. This allows you to connect additional audio equipment if the installation requires it.
It can be relevant in setups where you want more flexibility around audio than the built-in equipment alone can provide.

Alarm in and out

The camera has alarm inputs and outputs so it can work together with other equipment. This could be sensors, sirens, relays or other parts of a complete security solution.
It gives you more options if the camera is to be part of a more advanced installation.

ePoE

The camera supports ePoE, which makes it possible to carry power and data over longer distances than with a standard network connection. That can make installation easier and more flexible in larger buildings or on larger outdoor sites.

It’s a clear advantage if the camera must be mounted somewhere far from the network equipment.

SD card recording

The camera supports microSD cards up to 512 GB so you can store recordings directly in the camera. It can be used as local storage or as extra security if the connection to the recorder is temporarily lost.

It gives you more flexibility in both small and larger installations.

Cybersecurity

Dahua has built a range of security features into the camera, including encryption, access control and secure boot. This helps protect the camera and your data from unwanted access.

It’s especially relevant in installations where the camera is part of a network and where secure operation is important.

Mounting

The camera can be mounted directly on a wall or ceiling. If there isn’t room for cables behind the camera, a junction box or bracket can make the installation neater and easier.
You can always check the “accessories” tab for this camera to find the brackets and mounting parts that fit this model.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

Den professionelle måde at levere strøm, til et PoE-kamera, er gennem netværkskablet.
