Dahua SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1 8+4MP panoramic camera with 180° view, 25x zoom, smart tracking, lights and sound
Dahua panoramic camera and PTZ camera in one solution with 180° overview, 25x zoom and smart tracking
- You get both a wide 180° overview and a separate zoom camera in the same unit.
- The wide camera watches the whole area while the PTZ camera can zoom in on details and follow movement.
- Smart tracking makes it possible to automatically follow people and vehicles.
- Smart Dual Light provides both IR and white light depending on what’s happening in the area.
- Lights and siren can be used as a response if the camera detects an event.
- AcuPick makes it easier to quickly find people and vehicles in recordings.
The camera can be controlled from your phone via the Dahua DMSS app, where you can view live image, zoom, control the PTZ unit and play back recordings. It’s especially well suited to places where you want both overview and the option to zoom in on what’s happening.
Panoramic camera with zoom camera for large areas
DH-SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1 is built for monitoring larger areas where a single regular camera often isn’t enough. You get a wide panoramic image that shows the whole area, while the separate PTZ part can pan, tilt, zoom and follow movement.
This makes the camera well suited for, for example, parking areas, squares, industrial sites, yards, access roads and other places where you want both a fixed overview and the ability to see details up close.
Panoramic image with 180° overview
The camera’s overview channel is designed to give you a very wide view of the area. With a 180° field of view you can see a large area in a single image, so you don’t need multiple fixed cameras to get an overview.
That’s a big advantage in places where a lot happens across a wide area. You get a calm, easy-to-read image that makes it simpler to spot where something is going on.
Detail camera with 25x optical zoom
In addition to the panorama part, the camera has a separate PTZ unit with 25x optical zoom. That means you can zoom far in on people, vehicles or incidents without losing the sharpness you’d get with pure digital zoom.
The wide image gives you the overview, while the zoom unit lets you inspect what’s important up close. That’s exactly what makes this type of camera so useful in larger installations.
PTZ control
PTZ stands for pan, tilt and zoom. That means the detail camera can pan, tilt and zoom so you can change the view directly from your phone, computer or recorder.
You can also store preset positions and have the camera cycle between them. That makes it easier to monitor several important areas with a single camera.
Smart tracking
One of the most exciting features of this model is smart tracking. Here the panorama and zoom parts work together. The wide camera detects motion in the area, and the detail camera can then start following the person or vehicle.
That means you keep the overview while also getting a closer look at what’s happening. You don’t have to rely only on a fixed wide shot when something moves through the area.
Starlight night image
Starlight makes the camera more light-sensitive, giving you a clear image in low light. This helps especially in areas with some illumination but not enough for a regular camera to deliver good results.
In practice, it means you can see more details late in the day, at night and in poorly lit areas.
Smart Dual Light
Smart Dual Light means the camera intelligently uses both IR light and white light. During quiet periods the camera can use IR light for more discreet monitoring. When a relevant event occurs, the white light can turn on and provide a color image of the situation.
It gives you a good balance between discreet surveillance and clear recordings when it matters.
IR night light and white light
The camera has both infrared and white light. The panoramic part offers up to 30 meters IR and 30 meters white light, while the detail camera provides up to 100 meters IR and up to 50 meters white light.
That means you can get a wide night image close to the camera and at the same time use the zoom unit to see farther into the area.
Human and vehicle detection
The camera can distinguish between people and vehicles, so you get more relevant events and fewer unnecessary alarms. That’s a big advantage outdoors, where ordinary motion detection often reacts to things you’re not interested in.
It makes it easier for you to focus on what really matters instead of spending time on irrelevant events.
Perimeter protection
The camera supports rules like line crossing, intrusion, loitering, fence detection, fast moving and people gathering. This lets you tailor the monitoring to the specific area you want to keep an eye on.
If someone enters an area they shouldn’t, the camera can react and record the event more precisely.
SMD 4.0, smart motion detection
SMD 4.0 is Dahua’s smart motion detection. The feature helps filter out irrelevant movements and focus on people and vehicles.
That means you get more useful monitoring and a clearer event list, especially in outdoor areas with a lot of motion.
AcuPick
AcuPick makes it much easier to find relevant events in recordings. Instead of manually going through large amounts of video, the system helps locate people and vehicles faster.
When the camera is used with a compatible Dahua recorder, you can search more precisely in both live view and recordings. That saves time and makes it a lot easier to find the event you’re looking for.
Lights and siren
The camera has built-in capability to react with red and blue lights and sound. It can be used as a clear response if someone moves into an area you’re monitoring closely.
You can choose between several sounds and even import your own audio files. That makes the feature useful in locations where you want to make it obvious the area is monitored or to draw clear attention to an incident.
Image stabilization and defog
The detail camera has electronic image stabilization that helps reduce shake in the image. This is especially useful on zoom cameras, where small movements can otherwise become very noticeable.
Defog can improve visibility in fog or haze so you get a more usable image in challenging weather conditions.
SD card recording
The camera supports microSD cards up to 512 GB. This allows you to store recordings directly on the camera, either as primary storage in smaller setups or as backup.
That can be an advantage if you want extra security so recordings are still saved even if the connection to the recorder is interrupted for a period.
PoE and power connection
The camera can be powered via PoE or 12V DC. With PoE you can get both power and network through the same cable, which simplifies installation.
That’s useful when the camera needs to be mounted where you want to minimize cabling.
Accessories
The camera can be mounted with several different brackets depending on where it will be installed. Options include wall mount, ceiling mount, corner mount, pole mount and mounts for parapet or flat surface installation.
You can always check the “accessories” tab on the camera page to find the brackets and mounting parts that fit this model.
