8 MP dome camera with motor zoom and person and vehicle detection

DS-2CD2783G2-LIZS2U combines 8 MP / 4K resolution with a motorized 2.8-12 mm lens. The camera can classify people and vehicles and has both IR and white light for monitoring in different lighting conditions.

2.8-12 mm motorized zoom

The motorized lens makes it possible to adjust the field of view from 2.8 to 12 mm. This is practical when the exact camera angle needs to be set after installation.

At 2.8 mm, you get a wide horizontal viewing angle of approximately 106.5°, giving you a good overview of a larger area. At 12 mm, the viewing angle is approximately 30.2°, so the camera can focus on a smaller area farther away.

Person and vehicle detection

The camera uses Deep Learning to classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus alerts on these targets instead of simply reacting to any movement in the camera image.

The function can be used together with line crossing and intrusion, where the camera can trigger an alarm based on the selected target type.

IR and white light

The camera has both IR and white light with a range of up to 40 meters. Hikvision specifies 3 different modes for the supplementary lighting, so the camera can be adapted to different needs.

IR is used for discreet monitoring in the dark with a black-and-white image, while the white light allows the camera to illuminate the area with visible light.

Dual built-in microphone

DS-2CD2783G2-LIZS2U has two built-in microphones, so sound from the area around the camera can be included in the monitoring. The camera also supports background noise filtering.

In addition, there is one line-in and one line-out for connecting external audio equipment. The datasheet does not list a built-in speaker.

Alarm input and alarm output

The camera has one alarm input and one alarm output. This makes it possible to connect compatible external alarm equipment to the camera.

8 MP / 4K resolution

With a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, the camera provides a high level of detail, which among other things gives better opportunities to examine details in recordings.

At full 4K resolution, the camera delivers up to 20 frames per second. At 3200 × 1800 and lower resolutions, it delivers up to 25 frames per second at 50 Hz and 30 frames per second at 60 Hz.

Better image in backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, giving you a more balanced image, for example at entrances, windows, and other places with strong backlight.

In addition, BLC, HLC, and 3D DNR are supported for further image adjustment.

Face Detection

The camera supports Face Detection, so it can detect when a face appears in the image.

Face Detection should not be confused with face recognition. The datasheet does not state that the camera can identify specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances. Since the camera has motorized zoom, the values change depending on the lens setting.

At the widest setting, the values are approximately 88 meters for Detect, 35 meters for Observe, 18 meters for Recognize, and 9 meters for Identify.

At maximum telephoto, the values are approximately 290 meters for Detect, 115 meters for Observe, 58 meters for Recognize, and 29 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the range of the camera's illumination or the range of person and vehicle detection.

Supports SD cards up to 512 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 512 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. In addition, network storage via NAS and Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) is supported.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

DS-2CD2783G2-LIZS2U supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+, and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

IP67 and IK10

The camera is IP67-rated against water and dust and IK10-rated against physical impact. It can therefore be used both indoors and outdoors.

According to the datasheet, the model has no specific corrosion protection and should therefore not be chosen for installations where special protection against corrosion is required.

PoE or 12 V DC

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, both power and network data can run through the same network cable.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
