Thermal and optical monitoring in one camera

Hikvision DS-2TD2628-10/QA has both a thermal and a standard optical camera channel. The thermal part detects temperature differences, while the optical part provides a regular video image with up to 4 MP resolution.

This makes it possible to monitor activity in the area and keep an eye on temperature conditions from the same camera.

The dynamic analysis reacts to the development of flames and heat.

Temperature measurement:
The camera is also suitable for measuring temperatures in cases that are not related to fire - for example temperatures in server rooms, machine rooms, electrical cabinets, etc.

Temperature measurement and alarm

The camera can measure temperatures from -20 °C to 150 °C with a stated accuracy of ±8 °C. Temperature measurement can be set up at up to 10 points, 10 areas, and 1 line.

If the temperature moves outside the set limits, the camera can trigger an alarm. The function is designed, among other things, for early warning of abnormal heat and may be relevant in warehouses, production areas, and other places where temperature changes need to be detected quickly.

Thermal monitoring at longer distances

The thermal camera section has a resolution of 256 × 192 and a 9.7 mm lens with a horizontal field of view of 18°. The relatively narrow field of view makes the camera well suited for targeted thermal monitoring over longer distances.

As a reference, the manufacturer states a VCA range of up to 77.6 meters for people and 203.7 meters for vehicles. The actual range depends, among other things, on the surroundings and the target to be detected.

4 MP optical camera

The standard camera channel delivers up to 2688 × 1520 resolution and uses an 8 mm lens with a horizontal field of view of approximately 39.4°. This provides a regular video image of the area the camera is monitoring.

Person and vehicle analysis

The camera’s video analytics can classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus alarms on relevant targets rather than simply reacting to ordinary movement in the image.

Rules can be set up for line crossing, intrusion, and movement into and out of specific areas. Up to 8 VCA rules can be created in total.

IR and white warning light

The camera has IR illumination with a range of up to 30 meters for monitoring in the dark. The strength and angle of the IR light are adjusted automatically.

In addition, the camera has white light with a range of up to 30 meters, which can flash as a visual warning in the event of an incident.

Sound and light alarm

The camera can respond with both flashing white light and an audible warning, for example in the event of a VCA incident or a temperature deviation.

There are two pre-set sound warnings, and up to six custom sound warnings can be imported.

Good image in challenging lighting conditions

The optical camera section is designed to handle areas with both bright and dark parts in the same image. This can be especially useful at entrances, gates, and areas with large differences in lighting.

Supports SD cards

The camera supports microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC cards up to 256 GB for local recording. In addition, NAS and ANR are supported for use with compatible network equipment.

External audio and alarm

The camera has a 3.5 mm input for an external microphone or line-in as well as an audio output. In addition, there are 2 alarm inputs, 2 alarm outputs, and RS-485 for integration with other equipment.

Multiple power supply options

The camera can be powered by 12V DC, 24V AC, or PoE. With PoE, both power and network connection can run through the same network cable from a compatible PoE switch or recorder.

Outdoor use

The camera is IP67-rated and intended for outdoor installation. It can operate at temperatures from -40 °C to 65 °C and has protection against, among other things, overvoltage and voltage transients.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
