Thermal and optical monitoring in one camera

Hikvision DS-2TD1228-2/QA has both a thermal and a standard optical camera channel. The thermal part detects temperature differences, while the optical part provides a regular video image with up to 4 MP resolution.

This combination makes it easier to get both a visual overview and information about temperature conditions in the monitored area.

Temperature measurement and alarm for temperature deviations

The camera can measure temperatures from -20 °C to 150 °C and has a stated measuring accuracy of ±8 °C. Temperature measurement can be set up on points, areas, and a line in the image.

It can also trigger an alarm for temperature deviations and is designed, among other things, for early warning of abnormal heat. This can be relevant in warehouses, production areas, construction sites, and other places where temperature changes need to be detected quickly.

Thermal image with a wide field of view

The thermal camera part has a resolution of 256 × 192 and a 2.1 mm lens with a horizontal field of view of 90°. This provides a broad thermal overview of the area.

The thermal view also supports White Hot and Black Hot, among other modes, where detected targets can be marked in color.

4 MP optical camera image

The standard camera part has a resolution of up to 2688 × 1520 and a 2.2 mm lens. The wide horizontal field of view of around 118° makes it possible to get a good overview of the area around the camera.

Person and vehicle analytics

The camera's video analytics can classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to work more precisely with events in the area and reduce alarms caused by movements that are not relevant.

Rules can be set up for line crossing, intrusion, and movement into and out of specific areas, among other things.

Light and sound alarm

The camera has a white warning light with a range of up to 30 meters and an adjustable flashing frequency. In addition, the camera supports sound alarms for both video analytics and temperature deviations.

There are two pre-set sound alerts, and up to six custom sound alerts can be imported.

Monitoring in the dark

The optical camera part has IR illumination with a range of up to 15 meters. The strength and angle of the IR light are adjusted automatically so the lighting matches the monitored area.

Supports SD cards

The camera supports microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC cards up to 256 GB for local recording. It also supports network storage via NAS as well as ANR with compatible equipment.

External audio and alarm connection

The camera has a 3.5 mm input for an external microphone or line-in, as well as an audio output. In addition, there is one alarm input and one alarm output for integration with external equipment.

12V DC or PoE

The camera can be powered by either 12V DC or PoE. With PoE, both power and network connection can be carried through the same network cable from a compatible PoE switch or recorder.

Outdoor use

The camera is IP66-rated and intended for outdoor installation. It can operate at temperatures from -40 °C to 65 °C and has protection against, among other things, overvoltage and voltage transients.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

ANR

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
