4-channel main unit for modular video surveillance
AXIS F9114-R Mk II is the main unit in a modular AXIS camera system. Instead of a traditional camera, where the lens and electronics are combined in one unit, separate sensor units are connected to the main unit.
You can connect up to four compatible sensor units at the same time. This makes the solution well suited for installations where the cameras need to take up as little space as possible, or where several areas need to be monitored from the same main unit.
Up to 4 sensor units
The main unit has four FAKRA connections, so it can be used with up to four sensor units at the same time. It is also possible to combine different compatible sensor units in the same installation.
The sensors and main unit are connected with compatible AXIS cables, so the main unit itself can be placed somewhere other than the camera sensor.
Up to 4K resolution
The maximum resolution depends on the sensor unit connected to the main unit. With a compatible 8 MP sensor unit, up to 3840 x 2160 is supported.
2 MP and 5 MP sensor units are also supported, so the system can be adapted to the specific installation.
AI analytics directly in the main unit
AXIS F9114-R Mk II has a built-in deep learning unit, making it possible to process advanced video analytics directly in the device.
AXIS Object Analytics is included and can, among other things, detect and classify people and different types of vehicles. The analytics can be used, for example, for detection in a specific area, crossing a line, counting, and detecting loitering in an area.
People and different types of vehicles
AXIS Object Analytics can distinguish between people and vehicles such as cars, buses, trucks, and bicycles. This makes it possible to create rules that react to specific objects rather than all movement in the image.
The system can be used for line crossing, object in area, crossline counting, and occupancy in area, among other things.
Designed for environments with vibration
The main unit is designed for installations where vibration and shocks are part of everyday life. AXIS describes the design as suitable for installation inside or close to machinery, as well as in vehicles.
The FAKRA connectors also help provide a stable connection between the main unit and the sensor units in these environments.
Ignition control for vehicle installation
AXIS F9114-R Mk II supports ignition control with controlled shutdown. This function is relevant for vehicle installations, where the system needs to handle the vehicle ignition being switched off.
Axis Edge Vault
The main unit has Axis Edge Vault, AXIS' hardware-based platform for protecting the device and sensitive information.
This includes secure boot, secure storage of cryptographic keys, and signed video. Signed video makes it possible to verify that the video material has not been altered after recording.
Supports SD card and network storage
Recordings can be stored on a microSD, microSDHC, or microSDXC card directly in the main unit. Recording to network storage (NAS) is also possible.
The SD card can be encrypted if the recordings need extra protection.
Option for external microphones
The main unit has two 3.5 mm inputs for an external microphone or line-in. This makes it possible to combine video with audio in installations where that is relevant.
No built-in microphone or speaker is listed in the datasheet.
Connection of external devices
AXIS F9114-R Mk II has four configurable I/O connections that can be used for integration with external equipment. In addition, RS485 and USB are supported.
AXIS Sensor Metrics Dashboard can also collect information from connected sensors and devices. The system supports, among other things, GPS data via RS485 as well as Modbus.
PoE or DC power supply
The main unit can be powered via PoE, so power and network connection can run through the same network cable. It can also be powered with 10-48 V DC.
Sensor units purchased separately
AXIS F9114-R Mk II is a main unit and does not have a camera lens of its own. Compatible AXIS sensor units must therefore be connected to obtain video images.
The datasheet lists AXIS F21 Sensor Unit, AXIS F41 Sensor Unit, and AXIS F7225-RE Pinhole Sensor, among others, as compatible hardware.
