8 MP AcuSense dome camera with DarkFighter

DS-2CD2186G2H-I combines 8 MP / 4K resolution with DarkFighter and Deep Learning-based classification of people and vehicles. The camera also has IR for surveillance in the dark and an IP67- and IK10-rated camera housing.

AcuSense focuses on people and vehicles

The camera’s Deep Learning features can classify people and vehicles. This makes it possible to focus relevant alerts on these target types.

For example, it can be used at entrances, driveways and other areas where you mainly want to detect people or vehicles.

Line crossing and monitoring of specific areas

DS-2CD2186G2H-I supports line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting. These functions can trigger alerts based on the specified target types: people and vehicles.

For example, you can create a virtual line by a gate or driveway, or define a specific area that the camera should monitor.

8 MP provides a detailed 4K image

The camera has a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, equal to 8 MP / 4K. The high resolution provides many image points and therefore good opportunities to see smaller details in recordings.

At 50 Hz, the camera can deliver up to 25 frames per second at full 4K resolution.

DarkFighter for very low light

DarkFighter is designed to provide better images when only very little light is available. DS-2CD2186G2H-I is specified down to 0.0008 lux in color at F1.0.

The camera’s 1/1.8" image sensor and light-sensitive F1.0 aperture help make the most of the available light. When it gets completely dark, the camera can switch to black and white and use the built-in IR illumination.

IR illumination for surveillance in the dark

The camera has built-in 850 nm IR illumination with a range of up to 30 meters. This makes it possible to continue monitoring in complete darkness with a black-and-white image.

Smart Supplement Light helps control the supplementary IR illumination.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

DS-2CD2186G2H-I is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens.

2.8 mm provides an approximate 105° horizontal field of view and is a good fit for areas where you want a wide overview, for example at entrances, patios and courtyards.

4 mm provides an approximate 90° horizontal field of view and focuses the image more forward. This can be an advantage at driveways, gates and passageways.

Better image in difficult backlight

The camera handles areas with both strong light and dark sections, making the image more balanced in situations such as backlight. This can be useful at entrances or other places where lighting conditions vary a lot within the same image.

The camera also supports BLC, HLC and 3D DNR for further image adjustment.

Face Capture

DS-2CD2186G2H-I supports Face Capture, so the camera can detect faces in the image and take pictures of them.

Face Capture should not be confused with facial recognition. The datasheet lists Face Capture, but not identification of specific people against a face database.

How far can the camera see?

The DORI values provide a standardized indication of the expected level of detail at different distances from the camera.

With 2.8 mm, the values are approximately 89 meters for Detect, 35 meters for Observe, 17 meters for Recognize and 8 meters for Identify.

With 4 mm, the values are approximately 109 meters for Detect, 43 meters for Observe, 21 meters for Recognize and 10 meters for Identify.

DORI describes the level of detail in the image and should not be confused with the camera’s IR range, which is up to 30 meters.

Supports SD cards up to 512 GB

The camera supports SD cards up to 512 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera. Network storage via NAS is also supported.

With compatible Hikvision memory cards, encryption of the memory card and monitoring of the card’s condition are also supported.

H.265+ reduces storage usage

DS-2CD2186G2H-I supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264. H.265+ helps reduce the amount of video data and therefore the need for storage space and network bandwidth.

PoE makes installation easier

The camera can be powered by either 12 V DC or PoE according to IEEE 802.3af. With PoE, both power and network data can run through the same network cable.

This usually means that only one cable needs to be run to the camera when it is connected to a compatible PoE switch or PoE recorder.

IP67 and IK10

The camera base and cover are made of aluminum alloy. IP67 protects the camera against dust and water, while IK10 means the construction is designed to withstand physical impact.

The camera can be used at temperatures from -30 °C to +60 °C. The datasheet states that the model does not have special corrosion protection.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.

Avoid losing recordings with AutomaticNetwork R eplenishment.
If there are network problems, the camera stores the recordings on an SD- card - and then sends them to the recorder when the connection is stable again.
