Thermal and optical surveillance in the same camera

HM-TD1228-2/G1/T3A is a bi-spectrum camera, which means it includes both a thermal camera and a standard optical camera. The thermal channel detects temperature differences in the area, while the optical channel provides a regular video image with a high level of detail.

This combination makes it possible to detect events based on heat and then review more visual details of the recorded area.

Thermal sensor with 256 × 192 pixels

The thermal channel has a resolution of 256 × 192 pixels and a 2.1 mm lens with a wide field of view of 90° horizontally and 65.4° vertically. Thermal sensitivity is ≤25 mK at 25 °C and F1.0, so the camera can detect relatively small temperature differences.

The thermal channel also supports 2× and 4× digital zoom.

5 MP optical camera with a wide field of view

The standard video channel delivers up to 5 MP resolution at 2688 × 1944 pixels. It uses a 2.2 mm lens with a horizontal field of view of 128.3°, giving you a broad overview of the area in front of the camera.

120 dB WDR helps preserve detail in areas with both bright and dark sections at the same time.

Combine thermal and regular images

The camera supports bi-spectrum image fusion, where details from the optical channel can be shown together with the thermal image. It also supports Picture-in-Picture, so a thermal image can be displayed as part of the regular video image.

This way, you can use information from both sensors to assess an event.

People and vehicle detection

The camera supports video analytics for perimeter monitoring with detection of people and vehicles. Rules can be set up for line crossing, intrusion into an area, and entry into or exit from a defined area.

Up to eight VCA rules are supported in total. The stated VCA range is up to 24 meters for people and up to 60 meters for vehicles.

Temperature measurement and alarms for temperature deviations

The thermal channel can be used for temperature measurement in the range from -20 °C to 150 °C. The stated measurement accuracy is ±8 °C.

Temperature rules can be defined as a point, area, or line, and the camera supports up to 21 temperature rules. The function can be used, among other things, to respond to temperatures that differ from the selected limits.

Fire spot detection

The camera has an algorithm for dynamic fire spot detection and can detect up to 10 fire spots. The thermal sensor makes it possible to respond to heat development as part of the camera’s surveillance functions.

Smoke detection

HM-TD1228-2/G1/T3A also supports an algorithm for smoke detection. This gives you another option for automatic analysis of specific events in the camera’s monitoring area.

IR and white light up to 30 meters

The camera has both infrared light and white light with a range of up to 30 meters. It supports IR, white light, and an automatic Smart mode.

IR makes it possible to monitor the area with the optical channel even when no normal lighting is available.

Light and sound alarm directly from the camera

The white light can be used as a visual alarm with adjustable flashing frequency. The camera also supports an audio alarm for VCA events and temperature deviations.

There are two preset voice messages, plus the option to import up to six custom voice messages shared between the supported alarm types.

Outdoor installation with IP67

The camera is IP67 rated and designed for installation in exposed outdoor environments. The stated operating temperature ranges from -40 °C to 65 °C at humidity levels of up to 95%.

In addition, the camera is specified with TVS 6000 V protection against, among other things, overvoltage and voltage transients.

PoE or 12 V DC

Power can be supplied via the network cable with PoE, so data and power run through the same cable. The camera supports PoE according to IEEE 802.3at Class 4 and can alternatively be powered by 12 V DC ±25 %.

The stated maximum power consumption is 12.8 W.

Compatibility and connections

The camera has a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 network connection as well as RS-485. It can be powered with PoE or 12 V DC.

For installation, compatible mounting accessories include the DS-1280ZJ-DM21 junction box as well as various wall, corner, pole, and pendant brackets.
