Ajax MotionProtect Curtain Jeweller is a wireless curtain motion sensor designed to monitor narrow areas such as windows, doors, gates, hallways and glass partitions. The sensor creates a narrow invisible detection zone that registers people passing through the area without necessarily monitoring the entire room.

Ajax MotionProtect Curtain
MotionProtect Curtain is typically used for indoor perimeter protection when you want to secure specific access points or areas without triggering the alarm for the rest of the room. That makes the sensor particularly suitable for homes, shops, offices, warehouses and exhibition spaces.
Narrow curtain detection zone
The sensor works with a very narrow detection angle of just 6° horizontally and 90° vertically. This means it acts like an invisible curtain in front of windows, doors or other access points.
It lets you move freely in the rest of the room while specific areas remain monitored.
Detects motion up to 15 meters
MotionProtect Curtain can detect motion up to 15 meters depending on settings and installation. The sensor responds quickly to both slow and fast movements.
Two PIR sensors for more accurate detection
The sensor uses two PIR sensors together with Ajax’s optical system with a multifaceted mirror. The combination provides more accurate detection and helps reduce false alarms.
Can ignore pets with correct installation
With correct installation, MotionProtect Curtain can in many cases ignore pets. Ajax, for example, recommends mounting the sensor upside down in environments with animals.
However, this depends heavily on the pet’s size, movement patterns and position relative to the sensor’s detection field. If a pet moves directly into the curtain zone or jumps up close to the sensor, alarms can still occur. Pet immunity is therefore not 100% foolproof.
If you want maximum security in areas with pets, we often recommend combining the system with magnetic contacts on windows and doors.
Ideal for windows and glass partitions
MotionProtect Curtain is especially popular in front of large windows, patio doors, shop windows and corridors where you want quick detection of intrusion without monitoring the whole room.
Stable wireless communication
The sensor communicates wirelessly with the Ajax hub via Jeweller technology. The system constantly monitors the connection and notifies you of signal issues, tampering or lost connection.
Wireless range up to 1,700 meters
MotionProtect Curtain has a wireless range of up to 1,700 meters in open space. For larger installations, the range can be extended with Ajax ReX signal repeaters.
Tamper protection
The sensor has a built-in tamper function that detects if someone tries to remove the unit from the wall or mounting bracket. The system sends an immediate alert in case of tampering.
Up to 3 years battery life
MotionProtect Curtain is powered by a CR123A battery with up to 3 years of battery life under normal conditions. Battery status is continuously monitored in the Ajax app.
Easy installation
The sensor is quickly mounted with the included SmartBracket bracket and can be added to the system via a QR code in the Ajax app. Installation does not require opening the case.
