DS-2CD2543G2-LI(W)(S)(2U) is designed for places where you want a discreet camera with high image quality and intelligent detection. Its compact design makes the camera ideal for shops, offices, schools, entrances, and common areas.

The camera can be used both indoors and outdoors and is protected against dust, rain, and minor attempts at vandalism.

4 MP resolution

The camera records in up to 4 MP resolution at 2688 × 1520 pixels. This provides a sharp image with great detail, making it easier to assess people, vehicles, and incidents.

The high resolution also gives you better options for zooming in on relevant areas in the recordings.

AcuSense recognizes people and vehicles

AcuSense uses intelligent image analysis to distinguish between people, vehicles, and general movement. This reduces false alarms caused by things like animals, rain, leaves, and changing light.

The camera supports features such as line crossing and area monitoring, where alarms can be limited to people and vehicles.

Smart Hybrid Light

The camera includes both infrared light and white LED light with a range of up to 30 meters. The lighting can be set to different operating modes depending on how the area needs to be monitored.

For normal night recording, the camera can use invisible infrared light. When a relevant person or vehicle is detected, the white light can be activated so the event is recorded in color.

Built-in microphone on 2U variants

Models with the 2U designation have a built-in dual microphone that records audio together with the video. The microphones are positioned to deliver clearer and more natural sound recording.

Built-in noise reduction helps reduce background noise and can make speech and other relevant sounds easier to hear.

Alarm and audio connection on S variants

Models with the S designation support external audio as well as an alarm input and alarm output. This makes it possible to connect the camera to, for example, an external microphone, speaker, sensor, or other alarm device.

These functions are especially relevant in installations where the camera needs to be part of a larger security system.

Wireless network on W variants

Models with the W designation support a wireless network connection. This can be practical in places where it is difficult to run a network cable to the camera.

The camera still requires power, and a wired connection is normally recommended where possible, as it typically provides the most stable connection.

120 dB True WDR

120 dB True WDR helps the camera handle areas with both bright light and dark shadows. This is useful, for example, at entrances, windows, and gates with strong backlight.

The function provides a more balanced image, making it easier to see details in both bright and dark areas.

Choice between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

The model is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens. A 2.8 mm lens provides a wide field of view and is suitable for smaller rooms, entrances, and areas close to the camera.

A 4 mm lens provides a narrower and more focused image, which is suitable when the area is farther from the camera.

Local storage on microSD card

The camera has space for a microSD card of up to 512 GB. This makes it possible to store recordings directly in the camera, either as a standalone solution or as extra security together with a network recorder.

The recordings can also be saved to a compatible Hikvision NVR or network storage.

IP67 and IK08

IP67 means that the camera is protected against dust and heavy rain. IK08 provides extra protection against impacts and makes the model suitable for places where the camera is within reach.

The camera can therefore be used both indoors and outdoors, but it does not have any special corrosion protection and should not be placed in highly salty or chemically demanding environments.

Why choose a turret camera outdoors?

Although dome cameras are very popular, we generally recommend a turret camera for most outdoor installations. Turret cameras are less affected by reflections from rain, snow, dust, and cobwebs, which can affect image quality, especially when the camera’s infrared night lighting is active.

A dome camera can still be the right choice if you need extra protection against vandalism or a more discreet design. That is why this model is especially recommended for public-access areas, schools, shops, or other places where the camera may be exposed to impacts or attempts at vandalism.
