8 MP Ajax turret camera with Hybrid Light

TurretCam HL combines a detailed 8 MP image with AI detection and lighting for both black-and-white and color monitoring in the dark. The camera has both IR and white light with a range of up to 50 meters.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

Ajax TurretCam HL is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens. Both versions have the same 8 MP resolution, but the difference between the lenses determines how wide the camera sees.

2.8 mm provides a wide horizontal field of view of 100-110°. It’s a great fit for areas where you want to capture as much as possible in the image, such as a terrace, entrance, courtyard, or the area in front of a building.

4 mm provides a narrower horizontal field of view of 75-85°. The image is more focused straight ahead, which makes this version well suited for driveways, gates, and passages.

How far can the camera see?

With the 2.8 mm lens, the DORI detection distance is up to 90 meters. Observation is specified at 36 meters, recognition at 18 meters, and identification at 9 meters.

With the 4 mm lens, the DORI detection distance increases to 117.5 meters. Observation is specified at 47 meters, recognition at 23.5 meters, and identification at 11.6 meters.

DORI is a standardized distance scale that describes how much detail the camera can deliver at different distances. It should therefore not be confused with the range of the camera’s IR and white light, which is up to 50 meters.

Hybrid Light with IR and white light

The camera has both IR and white LED lighting with a range of up to 50 meters.

IR can be used for discreet monitoring in the dark, while the white light can illuminate the area when you want a normal color image. The camera automatically adjusts the brightness so people and objects close to the camera are not unnecessarily overexposed.

8 MP resolution with 4K image

The camera records at a resolution of up to 3840 × 2160 pixels. The high resolution delivers a detailed image and makes it easier to see smaller details in the recordings.

AI detection of people, vehicles, and pets

The camera’s built-in AI can distinguish between people, vehicles, and pets. That makes it easier to focus on relevant events instead of only reacting to general motion in the image.

For example, you can use it to detect when a person enters the area or when a vehicle drives into the driveway.

120 dB True WDR

True WDR helps the camera handle areas with big differences between light and shadow. This can be useful at an entrance, gate, or facade, where strong daylight and darker areas appear in the same image.

Built-in microphone

The camera has a built-in microphone and can therefore record audio together with the video image when audio recording is enabled.

Supports SD card

Ajax TurretCam HL supports microSD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera without a separate recorder.

Ajax recommends a microSD card of class V30 or faster. Memory card not included.

Can be used with Ajax NVR

If you want longer recording time or multiple cameras in the same system, TurretCam HL can be used together with an Ajax NVR.

This makes it possible to keep cameras and recordings together in the same Ajax solution.

Video together with the Ajax alarm system

TurretCam HL can work together with the Ajax alarm system. For example, you can create a scenario where the camera starts recording when an Ajax detector triggers an alarm.

The recording can then be used to quickly check what is happening in the area in connection with the alarm.

Access from mobile and computer

You can access the camera through the Ajax system from both mobile and computer. Here you can view live video, events, and recordings depending on the setup and your access rights.

PoE makes installation easier

The camera supports PoE, so both power and network can be supplied through the same network cable. That means you don’t need a separate power supply at the camera if it’s connected to a compatible PoE switch or NVR.

The camera can also be powered with 12 V DC.

For indoor and outdoor use

The camera is IP66-rated and can be mounted both indoors and outdoors. It also has IK08 protection against mechanical impacts and can operate at temperatures from -30 °C to +60 °C.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.
