8 MP Ajax turret camera

TurretCam delivers images with a resolution of up to 3840 × 2160 pixels. The camera can record directly to a microSD card, be used together with an Ajax NVR, and be integrated into the Ajax alarm system, so video can be used to verify events and alarms.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

Ajax TurretCam is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens. Both versions have the same 8 MP resolution, but the difference in lens determines how wide the camera sees.

2.8 mm provides a wide horizontal field of view of 100-110°. It is a great fit for areas such as a terrace, entrance, courtyard, or other places where you want to capture as much as possible in the image.

4 mm provides a narrower horizontal field of view of 75-85°. Here the image is more focused straight ahead, which works well for driveways, gates, and passages where you want to see farther ahead.

How far can the camera see?

With the 2.8 mm lens, the DORI detection distance is up to 90 meters. Observation is stated at 36 meters, recognition at 18 meters, and identification at 9 meters.

With the 4 mm lens, the DORI detection distance increases to 117.5 meters. Observation is stated at 47 meters, recognition at 23.5 meters, and identification at 11.6 meters.

DORI is a standardized distance that describes how much detail the camera can provide at different ranges. It should therefore not be confused with the camera’s IR range, which is up to 50 meters.

AI detection of people, vehicles and pets

The camera’s built-in AI can detect and distinguish between people, vehicles and pets. This makes it easier to focus on relevant events instead of reacting only to general motion in the image.

For example, you can use it to register when a person enters the area or a vehicle drives into the driveway.

Smart IR up to 50 meters

TurretCam has built-in IR illumination with a range of up to 50 meters, so the camera can also monitor the area in the dark.

Smart IR automatically adjusts the strength of the IR light based on the subject. This helps prevent people and objects close to the camera from being overexposed and therefore harder to see.

120 dB True WDR

True WDR helps the camera handle areas with big differences between light and shadow. This can be useful, for example, at an entrance where there is bright daylight outside and a darker area inside.

Built-in microphone

The camera has a built-in microphone and can therefore record audio together with the video when audio recording is enabled.

Supports SD cards

Ajax TurretCam supports microSD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be stored directly in the camera without a separate recorder.

The memory card must be V30 or faster and is not included.

Can be used with Ajax NVR

If you want longer recording time or multiple cameras together in the same system, TurretCam can be used with an Ajax NVR. This lets you bring cameras and recordings together in one Ajax solution.

Video together with the Ajax alarm system

TurretCam can work together with the Ajax alarm system. For example, you can create a scenario where an Ajax detector makes selected cameras start recording when an alarm is triggered.

The recorded event can then be displayed in the Ajax app or monitoring software, so you can quickly see what happened.

Access from mobile and computer

You can access the camera through the Ajax system from both mobile and computer. Here you can view live video, events, and recordings depending on the setup and your access rights.

PoE makes installation easier

TurretCam supports PoE, so both network and power can be supplied through the same network cable. That means you do not need a separate power supply at the camera if it is connected to a compatible PoE switch or NVR.

The camera can also be powered with 12 V DC.

For indoor and outdoor use

The camera is IP66 rated and can be mounted both indoors and outdoors. It also has IK08 protection against mechanical impacts and can operate at temperatures from -30 °C to +60 °C.

Power over Ethernet

Do like the professionals. POE means that only one cable is needed for the camera. The camera gets power through the network cable, typically from a recorder with built-in PoE, or from a POE switch.
