Ajax BulletCam 8 MP surveillance camera with AI, microphone and IR

8 MP Ajax camera 

BulletCam combines video surveillance with the Ajax alarm system and delivers a detailed image with a resolution of up to 3840 × 2160 pixels. The camera can record directly to a microSD card and can also be used together with an Ajax NVR.

Choose between 2.8 mm and 4 mm lens

Ajax BulletCam is available with either a 2.8 mm or 4 mm fixed lens. Both cameras have the same 8 MP resolution, but the difference in the lenses determines how wide the camera sees.

2.8 mm provides a wide horizontal viewing angle of 100-110°. It is well suited when you want to see a large area, such as a terrace, courtyard, or the area in front of a building.

4 mm provides a narrower horizontal viewing angle of 75-85°. The image is more focused forward, making this version well suited for, for example, driveways, gates, and passages where you want to be able to see further ahead.

How far can the camera see?

With the 2.8 mm lens, the camera can detect a person or object at a distance of up to approximately 90 meters. Recognition is specified at 18 meters and identification at 9 meters.

The 4 mm lens can detect at up to approximately 117.5 meters. Recognition is specified at 23.5 meters and identification at 11.6 meters.

These DORI distances are standardized measures of how much detail the camera can provide at different distances and should therefore not be understood as a guarantee that a person can always be identified at the stated distance.

AI detection of people, vehicles and pets

The camera’s built-in AI can distinguish between people, vehicles, and pets. This makes it possible to focus on relevant events instead of only reacting to normal movement in the image.

You can, for example, use it to detect when a person enters the area or a vehicle drives into the driveway.

Smart IR up to 50 meters

BulletCam has built-in IR illumination with a range of up to 50 meters, so the camera can also monitor the area in the dark.

Smart IR automatically adjusts the strength of the IR light according to distance. This helps prevent people and objects close to the camera from being overexposed, while still allowing areas further away to remain visible.

120 dB True WDR

True WDR helps the camera when there are both very bright and dark areas in the same image. This can be useful, for example, at an entrance where strong daylight and shadow would otherwise make it difficult to see details.

Built-in microphone

The camera has a built-in microphone and can therefore record audio together with the video image when audio recording is enabled.

Supports SD card

Ajax BulletCam supports microSD cards up to 256 GB, so recordings can be saved directly in the camera without a separate recorder.

Ajax recommends a V30 class microSD card or faster. Memory card is not included.

Can be used together with Ajax NVR

If you want longer recording time or several cameras combined in the same system, BulletCam can be used together with an Ajax NVR.

This makes it possible to combine cameras and recordings in the same Ajax solution.

Video together with the Ajax alarm system

BulletCam can work together with the Ajax alarm system. For example, you can create a scenario where selected cameras start recording when an Ajax detector triggers an alarm.

The recording can then be used to quickly check what is happening in the area in connection with the alarm.

Access from mobile and computer

You can access the camera through the Ajax system from both mobile and computer. Here, you can view live video, events, and recordings depending on the setup and your access rights.

PoE makes installation easier

BulletCam supports PoE, so both network and power can be supplied through the same network cable. This means you do not need a separate power supply at the camera if it is connected to a compatible PoE switch or NVR.

The camera can also be powered with 12 V DC.

For indoor and outdoor use

The camera is IP66-rated and can be mounted both indoors and outdoors. It also has IK08 protection against mechanical impact and can operate at temperatures from -30 °C to +60 °C.
