Ajax CombiProtect – Motion and glassbreak detector in one device
Ajax CombiProtect is a combined PIR and glassbreak detector that detects both motion and broken glass. The sensor instantly notifies the hub and then your phone if it detects movement or the sound of shattering glass.
Two sensors in one device
CombiProtect combines a PIR motion sensor with a glassbreak detector, so it triggers an alarm both when a pane is broken and for regular movement. That means fewer devices to install and maintain.

The sensor is ideal for living rooms and offices with large window areas.
Perimeter protection – arm the system while you’re at home
CombiProtect can be used as part of your perimeter protection. You can arm the system so it monitors openings (like doors and windows) and detects broken glass — without triggering the alarm from normal movement if, for example, you’re walking around the house at night.
Fully armed
When the system is fully armed, both motion and glassbreak detection are active.
How does the sensor work?
The motion sensor detects changes in infrared light and uses a built-in algorithm to distinguish between people and small pets. However, note that if a dog, for example, jumps up on a chair it may occupy more of the sensor’s field and cause a false alarm.
At the same time, the microphone in the glassbreak detector listens for both low and high frequencies created by breaking glass. To reduce false alarms, it ignores sounds like dog barking and heavy traffic.
If you want to avoid false alarms caused by pets, we recommend using linked perimeter protection instead.

Easy setup
The sensor is simple to install. Just scan the QR code in the Ajax app and place the sensor on the wall. It comes with a bracket so you can mount it without opening the sensor.
Easy to customize in the app
You can easily adjust the sensor’s functions in the app:
- Adjust sensitivity
- Add entry and exit delay
- Choose whether it should be active in perimeter mode
- Choose whether it should always be active — regardless of whether the alarm is armed
Notifications are sent via the app, SMS or calls — depending on the hub and settings.
Range
CombiProtect communicates wirelessly with the hub via Ajax Jeweller technology and has a range of up to 1,200 meters in open terrain.
Battery life
The sensor ships with a CR123A battery that can last up to 5 years — depending on usage and temperature. If the sensor is installed in a cold room, or if it frequently detects motion or glassbreak events, the battery life will be shorter. Battery quality also affects longevity.
Tamper protection
If someone tries to remove the sensor, it will immediately send a tamper alarm to the hub.
